Assume as hes out of contract he could still sign if available? We need a left sided player quick if MCClean has broke arm.

www.football.london/crystal-palace-fc/news/hodgson-press-conference-every-word-15095318He is, but he contacted Palace, wanting to go back there last week and they were interested, but they can't fit him into their 25 (and with the window now closed, not sure they will be able to make space now with their 25 named?) Ince is left-footed and has played pretty much 50% of his career out there, so you'd think he'd slot in there. From what Rowett was saying, he should be fit for Sheff Weds. And it should let Bauer back into the 18 at least until Clucas is fit to figure properly We are paper thin now though.

Surely Sako would be good cover on a short-term contract if he's anywhere near fit?

His stats in the Championship are pretty good. In something like 75 appearances he had 24 goals and 21 assists.

One of the biggest spenders re transfer fees isn't the same as how good a deal we offer Maybe that should have been a question for Mr Coates? However, challenging situation when existing players may resent others getting better deals

How long do we have to sign up 'free agents' such as this?
I'm sure we didn't need Claudio Yacob, did we (another midfielder), but who else is available?
There has to be a few of interest?

Any time Interesting that Ireland, Johnson & Wollscheid are all still on the free agent list with no obvious interested parties wanting to sign them up. Sako does seem to tick a lot of boxes but fact he's still available & hasn't been picked off yet could suggest he's not what he was a few season back..

They are still free agents because nobody wants them (for very good reasons)!

Villa showing they want to have some depth in their squad to make a serious challenge for the busier season, ( huth maybe going there too) We are a couple of injuries away from throwing away our chances of a top 6 finish Rowett not wanting players at the club who have been here via previous managers? Both would be useful as back up while we have the vacancies in the squad

Pretty sickening this. Such a starkly obvious target, even if he takes another month or two to get going. We have one capable creative wide player and one regular scorer. He could have contributed both. WBA already have Philips, Burke, Harvey Barnes while Rogriguez is very capable as a wide forward. I should stop fighting this inevitable trajectory to somewhere between 10th and 14th. ...What about Samir Nasri! .... ? (and who is FIdel Martinez.... sign him up Gazzer... www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fidel-martinez/profil/spieler/75612)
