What game was he watching today. On his post match interview on radio stoke he said we had good possession especially in the second half and created numerous chances!! Liam Lawrence wondered what game rowett was watching, as did I, cos we sounded poor on the radio.

Fuck knows to be honest. I can't see what he's trying to build, if anything. They said on Quest that they couldn't see what we were trying to do, Lenny saying the same thing, fans chanting "You don't know what you're doing " a few games in"... It won't be long into the Autumn before fans are audibly making their feelings known again if things don't start looming like they're improving.

Our possession was passing it around midfield and then 1) losing the ball or 2) putting out wide for one of our “wingers” to put a cross in (whether or not there was actually anyone in the box other than 3 massive West Brom defenders 😂) Excellent “possession” Gary 👏👏👏

Liam Lawrence is a breath of fresh air on the radio. Says it as it is through the eyes of a fan.

Haven’t heard his interview but he must be on the same drugs as Saido if he thinks today’s showing was anything like a palatable showing.
No gameplan, no strategy, no urgency, no threat, no nothing. He just threw players on the pitch and hoped. The 11 that finished the game was much closer to the XI that shouldve started.
Tactically the guy has as much a clue as Basil Brush. There’s so many tactical deficiencies in this team its a joke. We can start with the positioning of the full backs in both attacking and defensive phases. They’re too narrow. Push the full backs up too high and narrow and you leave yourself wide open. Not giving you any other clues Gary unless you pay me.
ROWETT OUT.

I have to wonder why Rowett was so popular in the Oatcake's next manager poll, though? Flatter to deceive? I was in the Moyes camp but to be honest I didn't think Rowett would be a such a bad choice that he has been so far.

Its odd... I was absolutely against Lambo appointment but gave him a very wide berth. I was very happy with the Rowett appointment but he's not making things easy at all.
Yesterday was a mess.

Rowett was a gamble that looks like failing he has no tactical nous he comes across as very boring when interviewed so god knows how the players feel after a team talk we should have gone for an older more experienced manager if we were serious about going up any time soon. As for Coates how many more mistakes are you going to make before we arrive in league 2. Time to move over Peter new blood is needed right from the top before its to late. I will add thanks for everything but we need to move with the times which we clearly are not.

I think Berahino is. Worryingly. Not Afobe? How come? I really haven’t been impressed with him so far. He looks a good finisher but I was expecting him to be a sort of rich man’s Akinbiyi, all pace and power, but he looks more like a poacher who doesn’t do much else. And that sort of player is obsolete in modern football. I don’t know if he’s lacking fitness or confidence but he doesn’t seem particularly quick or mobile so far and hasn’t done a lot in terms of link play.

Rowett sees games through the eyes of Ray Charles .
Until he sees what we see, we will remain in deep shit. I don’t doubt his ability, but his fucking arrogance and failure to learn and adjust will be his downfall.
Time to fucking wake up and shake up Gary.

Haven't totally given up on Afobe, but I was expecting a more rounded striker.
He seems to have gone for him largely because Kevin Phillips has a bit of a thing for him.
“When I first joined Derby two-and-a-half years ago with Paul Clement, we sat down and I remember clearly he asked what it would take to get promoted - and I said to go and sign Benik Afobe,” Phillips said in his Shropshire Star column.
“Paul thought it would cost £15m to sign him and I remarked that’d be the difference between going up or not.

Rowett really needs to be backing Afobe.
He's the one striker we've got that has previous for banging goals in at this level, and was clearly his priority signing when he first took over. He certainly didn't set the world on fire in his first few games, but dropping him will do fuck all to get him up to speed, and just as importantly getting the rest of the team used to a striker like him. That's half the battle right there. Play him into form as they say.
95% of the clubs in this division would kill to have him in their starting lineup.
