Yadda yadda yadda sums today up for me, can't get more excited either way honestly. They've regrouped so much better and quicker than us, which we knew. Gary's still finding his best team and formation, which we also knew. We didn't look totally dire or lost, just depressing and formless (in both senses of the word). I said beforehand that first of all I wanted us not to get overrun by a team capable of it, and at least that didn't happen and our fragile confidence wasn't knocked back down to the floor again. Looking for silver linings, that could have been a team on the verge of positive change I was watching today. On the other hand, it couldn't and God help us there could be a season of this to come 5 from me * if you were there please

4*.
Lots of crosses into the box but few chances created from them. He needs to get them actually passing forwards rather out to the wing all the time.

Had time to digest the performance and taken into account Rowetts post match interview. I have to give him a 4, the subs were baffling but we should have come away with a point, Mamma Afobe should have his arse kicked by every other Stoke player for missing the target from the penalty spot. How Ryan keeps getting picked is beyond me he's turning into a liabilty and Butland should never be getting beat at his near post. Alas we ended up with what we've become used to - fuck all. Gouranga.

3....
-1 Poor line up
-1 No clear shape
-1 Played to their strengths
-1 Poor tactical changes
-1 Poor substitutions
-1 Crouch starting
-1 Defensively shocking
All in all an inferior team .... Again,!?! So that's most Games we have been outdone so far, only one win. Fml

For starting with Crouch....A BIG FAT 0!
Sorry for shouting.

6 - he shouldn’t have started with Crouch but apart from that it was a good starting 11. It was a very open game and we missed a few chances as did WBA. Subs could have been better but it’s our defending that cost us yet again, we lack pace at CB and we lack a leader.

2.
It isn't working is it.
He's got a lot of good players there, being used all wrong, not knowing their roles.
I'm not sure if he's unable to manage them, if they dont respect him or what.
Crouch needed to come off at halftime. All his subs were wrong, strikers out on the wing to accommodate crouch, Allen at No10, and Bobo on for 10 minutes.
I don't really understand why we've bought so many midfielders in - the whole thing is crazy...
Very very poor!

0 crouch starting then staying on. We’ve become the joke of the championship. Shambles from Top to bottom.

0. Peter Crouch has been useless as a starting option for at least 3 years and is completely ineffective against fresh, far younger defenders. He can be useful against tired defenders off the bench, one lapse in concentration with balls bombarded into the box and he can nick a goal. From the start though, no. Never. While we had many weaknesses today, one of the biggest differences between the sides was West Brom had a proven quality Championship striker up front who had pace and movement and scored two goals. We had one too. He was sat on the bench and didn't come on till the last 20 minutes or so. Poor, poor management. Then there's the substitutions. Woods needed to come on, but in place of Berahino who was our only striker with any movement whilst Crouch stayed on? Chasing the game and leaving one elderly, immobile striker on the pitch whilst bringing on a defensive midfielder? Terrible management.
It's early days but the early signs with Rowett are very, very worrying. I'd be absolutely amazed if he achieves anything here. There have already been so many basic, schoolboy managerial errors that can be directly attributed to him. It's obviously too early to sack him but I'm struggling to see any signs that he has the ability to turn this around.

A generous 2 from me Obviously I wasn't there, but I did sit up until after 2.00 am to watch the shambles Starting Crouch was WRONG.....just WRONG Not 'hooking' him at half time (or before) was WRONG Replacing Berahino was WRONG Giving Bojan only 10 minutes was WRONG I know it's easy after the event.....but there were SO many questioning the fact that Crouch was starting. Why is it SO obvious to use mere observers?

2, for the reasons everyone is saying. I don't think our squad is great, but we have proven goalscorers that hardly ever get chances. I think a better manager would have signed players to provide chances for them.
Rowett also seems to have his favourites who get to play no matter what.
I don't like him very much.

I think just about every Stoke supporter for the past three seasons realises that Crouch is an impact sub. The fact that Rowett doesn't realise that is a bit worrying to say the least.
