He seems to do so much better when coming on than starting! I also thought against Hull that he was one of few that had an average game. Today I will actually say he was below average as he lost almost every duel with the WBA defenders. In addition he also missed at least one sitter so I'm still uncertain if it's right to start with him, but it might be. We certainly need Afobe's pace up front, unless we look very predictable, but who do we play together with him and what formation? I don't like to drop Etebo or Allen, but I would like to play both Woods and Bojan, if Ince is ready to play I also want to see him back in the team. We need Bauer (if he can get back to last season's form he is miles better than our other fullbacks) back in the team too as we need a fullback able to cross the ball, unfortunately Martina's crosses are just as piss poor as Pieter's! ..............................Butland............................. Bauer.............Shawcross............Indi............Pieters ...........................Allen... Woods............................ Ince...........................Bojan...................McClean ...............................Afobe............................... Subs: Federici, Williams, Martina, Etebo, Berahino, Diouf, Crouch. With this team we get more pace up front and hopefully a bit more creativity, but we need to be better at defending than today!

Crouchy doesn't deserve to be called shit. He's a good plan B to have coming off the bench.

Not one of them won their own individual battle with their direct opponent let alone the collective battle. Aside from us they are the least mobile team in the league so what does our idiot manager do? Play crouch for 90 fucking minutes. Seriously? Utter shite. Fuck the lot of them

3 substitutions not one of them was Crouch off, baffling!!
Ineffective against Hull and ineffective again today.

Crouch has been good for us..and the club has been good for him tbf..but no way should he be starting , especially away from home.
Watching their defenders effortlessly strolling out with the ball while Crouch ambled around was laughable( not his fault )
Press from the front my fucking arse !

I'd drop him to get Afobe back in the team, we need his pace and goalscoring ability. Berahino has done OK, but so has Bojan when given the chance. It's a tough one, but I'd go for Bojan in the next game.

Personally I'd keep Bera in and drop Crouch for Afobe and go from there, if Bera has a bad game then give Bojan a go but dropping him after he's been playing well would be harsh and send out the wrong message.

Did crouch win a single header today? About 2 and each was a free kick to them as he did that thing where he uses the defenders shoulders for leverage

Lovely bloke, great servant blah blah blah but fuck me im sick of seeing him leading the line for us. If his major role isn’t 15 minute cameos by October then we’re in for a painful season......

The problem with Crouchy is that he has now lost that short-range 'zip' of speed that enabled him to get ahead of defenders and get either head or foot to the ball. He's never been one to run around like a headless chicken - not his style - but without that 'edge' he's becoming very limited and should never be first choice central striker. That said, he still may have a role to play from the bench.

There’s no point playing him if we’re not going to put any half decent crosses in the box.

I can't remember him playing as poorly as he did today. He didn't get near a single header. Yep Anyone can have a poor game but tbh he really did look his age out there today, not so much his legs but how sharp his instincts weren't. I love the guy, hope it was a one off (also they were very well prepped to deal with him - which is always the problem now if he starts games).

I can't remember him playing as poorly as he did today. He didn't get near a single header. The West Brom defence played very well against him, at least 2 of them marking him I agree would be better coming off the bench at the moment and having another player close to him He spent a lot of time on the wing too

He shouldn't be expected to play more than 120 mins a week and 2 games a week is way too much for a man of his age, not enough recovery time

The difftence is Albion have Gayle and we have Crouch. I love the big man but for the last 5 years we have been crying out for a top quality striker. Abraham would have been a useful signing. However I still think we can click once Rowett finally picks his best team

Ineffective against Hull and ineffective again today. Absolutely, utterly baffling indeed. He should be nowhere near the starting line-up again. An OPTION off the bench - yes...…..but starting - NEVER AGAIN
