Having not watched the game I thought I'd look at the stats. Presumably not a fair reflection? Was most of our possession aimless? Were most of our shots from range? Did we look the equal of West Brom without a decent cutting edge or nowhere near as good as them?

The only stat that’s worth anything is the full time result.

The only stat that’s worth anything is the full time result. In an individual 90 minute game, yes, but not when your team is trying to get some kind of form together. Teams get unlucky don't they? Teams play very well, sometimes better than the opposition, and still lose.

They won because they had more quality in the final third. Had we started Afobe, for me, over Crouch, we win that game. We were certainly not overrun. Cutting edge and ridiculous subs being the big issue.

Here's a stat- 2 wins from our last 23 away games. Wow - I thought that it was a lot worse than that! Two is far better than I thought!

Doesn't say how many crosses we made, must have been 20+, none of which looked remotely like creating a scoring opportunity. 2nd half they largely sat back, knowing our only plan was to lump it in to Crouch and their defenders were comfortable defending this, which Rowett spun as us "controlling the game".

One win in 6 championship games.
I certainly expected a lot more of that from Rowett.
I can't see anything good about rowetts tenure so far

Gayle was the difference today, had we had him today we may have won it, Crouch has shown in two games now he needs to be no where near.

Spinksy normally tries for a positive spin - he's struggling today. He even gave Mame a '5', which is pretty much unheard of www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/stoke-city-west-brom-report-1959818MATCH VERDICT Another worrying indictment of Stoke's promotion credentials. They were distinctly lethargic by comparison to the Baggies and can have no complaints with this outcome. Second best from almost start to finish as we witnessed another worrying reminder of where Stoke currently stand in Championship circles. The sight of Dwight Gayle scoring twice merely twisted the knife for those who wanted him in a Stoke shirt this season. And when Stoke were thrown a lifeline - their 71st minute penalty - Benik Afobe goes and clips the cross bar. Erik Pieters did hit the back of the net, and with some force, but with only seconds left on the clock you didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

Here's a stat- 2 wins from our last 23 away games. Oh dear. And I thought the home record was bad. What's that: 2 wins in 12?
