Ryan, Allen, Crouch, Pieters.
All need to be dropped for me. They're one of the biggest reasons we're in the mess we're in.
GR needs to think what they bring to the side. He can't wait to drop Bauer or Afobe but the above 4's places never seem to be under threat. They dont even ever seem to get subbed.

It was the same with the two previous managers. I'm not sure what their reasoning is.

No one to replace them with. Think rowett is finding he's out of options. Only going to end one way isn't it?

I didn't think Pieters played too badly but taking off Bera to the delight of the Baggies fans. Does he get it? I'm starting to wonder, I really am.
Rowett could see his career turn into a downward trajectory....... Cotterill anyone?

I can't imagine any Stoke manager having the balls to drop Allen, it won't happen
Scholes would flip his pizza lid

I can't imagine any Stoke manager having the balls to drop Allen, it won't happen Scholes would flip his pizza lid And it needs to happen. Allen is a big problem as not only does he play every fucking minute but 3 managers have seemingly let him play where he wants. That's ok if you're Ronaldo...but he isn't even Ronnie Whelan !

We should have signed a left back this summer, preferably an attack minded one. We should have signed another centre back this summer in addition to Williams, one with pace and mobility.

Crouch has been dropped many times, but I agree about the rest which also includes the players that GR bought. They are the ones he tends to praise after games, which of course is a roundabout way to praise himself.

To be fair to him re Crouch, we won our first game with him up top so I understand why he started today and wasn't against it, he's hardly classed as undroppable, the problems came with the subs, he should have been gone at half time.

Crouch is a good plan B, and when it works he ends up starting, which is a very bad plan A.
Shawcross, Allen, and Butland are the three players that seem to undroppable to me. And all three have been mediocre of late.
Pieters is simply the only left back we have good enough for this level.

Allen, Woods and Etebo worked well in a 3 man midfield imo
Our problem is still competent goal scorers up front 4,3,3,

Crouch didn't get close to anything which was pretty incompetent in my opinion. It's a fair point though. Rowett thinks we had the players on the pitch to make better decisions and show more quality at both ends of the pitch. 3000 supporters packed into the away end could have told him differently as soon as they saw the team at 2.01pm. Make no mistake our team is crap but we aren't helped by the lousy manager we have in situ. Unbelievably, he cost us a 2m quid transfer fee. Shambolic

The big issue is that the Coates family have been to loyal. Football is now a short time turnaround and Stoke have held on to managers, directors of football and players for to long.

That was my worry before the season started, who was going to create the chances for the forwards to score from? Afobe, Ince, and Crouch should all be capable of scoring (Afobe and Ince are proven in the Championship), but where is the service? I hope Woods and Clucas are assist kings or we are fucked.

Eriks our joint top scorer-how can you drop him? That just about sums up the total bullshit the fans of Stoke were fed by the club on building a promotion winning team, when a defender who is crap and shouldn't even be in the team is joint top scorer. Maybe I was wrong and we don't need two strikers , maybe were better off with defenders that can score. 7-2-1 formation FTW.

I think that as long as we've got players sat on £50,000 per week, some don't give a shit whether they play or not. That's part of the contrast with clubs like Brentford - good age, hungry players, with a point to prove, keen to get on, and the £10,000 a week they earn is a privilege. In a sense, we're left with a severe "Premier League hangover" with the squad we have. Lording it around the fucking place, some form of celebrity, people fawning all over them, when in reality, some of them are absolutely wank. Fucking literally, shit players. A good chunk of our squad must pinch themselves when they wake up in a morning. They're stealing a living.
