The old saying is you don't become a bad manager overnight. Well let's rephrase it for gary rowett.you have definitely become a bad manager overnight.after last night's performances I don't think he has any more of an idea than Hughes or lampard

You got to have a plan and vision. Use preseason to tweek the plan and hit the ground running. So far it's been a clueless joke

He's far worse than both (or all three with Lampard ), he's either got a long term master plan or, as it seem most likely, he's making it up as he goes

Is it really Rowett? Look at the players on the pitch. Jesus Christ himself couldn't do much with that bunch of shit

Still I live in hope

If you could buy football managers jobs, the current stoke position is a job you'd find del boy & Rodney selling down the market.
It's a farce, 3 years in the making.
Rowett deserves time, he's a football manager not a magician.
3 years of not being able to see "what the fuss is about" and regular maulings has completely destroyed some of these players, especially the defence.

I agree... with the following caveats:-
His interview annoyed me where he said "the culture has to change quickly... we are not PL players any more". Because that's what he and the club should have sorted first. And I'd say quite a lot of people on this Board saw "culture" (in one guise or another) as the issue _ so wanted to see our investments focussed on younger hungry players with room to grow and something to prove. Not sure many wanted JUST 12-15m egos and reputations of PL nearly players. Many wanted a smattering of the non PL sort who've proved they can do well in the Champs - Ryan Woods. John Egans, Boobby Reids, Watkins, Lawrences, Chesters etc.... and wanted respectful but firm farewells to around 10 players from last season. So if there is now an entitled PL culture, it has been partly his engineering or neglect... and partly him behaving like a PL wannabe.
He now has to learn these very harsh lessons very very quickly and be prepared to make tough and unsentimental decisions - there is going to be close to zero tolerance of needing 10 failures and apologies to learn these lessons:-
- Fletcher has gone - Shawx has, most probably, gone - Allen is not an answer in our team, in this league - Pieters is poor - Edwards is not at the right standard - Maclean - well he might be a squad player - but is not good enough. - Bojan and Crouch - untrendy that they are - are better options. - This league is pacy. You need to live with that.
If we have 2 more players to get in this TW, then should be of good Championship pedigree; proven to play well in this league: Go for Woods (if he's still come) or Luongo; and if he'd come: Jarod Bowen. Or Mo Barrow or Che Evans. We need a Champ fit team... these two would allow evolution:-
GK Butland RB Diouf/Bauer CB BMI CB Williams* (*told never to repeat what he did) LB Cuco CM Clucas CM Woods (or Luongo) CM Sorenson LAF Ince CF Beharinho/Crouch RAF Bowen (or Barrow/Evans)
The front 6 have something to prove and an incentive for developing as players.
Subs: Who gives a shit, but probably out of Fed, Crouch, Afobe (for now), Diouf/Bauer, Etobo, Souttar, Campbell, ECM (reach an agreement with him), Bojan, Edwards/Tymon.
Not sure how financially hamstrung we are to do this, but would be loaning (to sell if poss) Allen, N'Diaye, Imbula, Adam, Fletcher, Shawx, N'Goy.. Pieters or Cameron kept til Jan for cover.

The old saying is you don't become a bad manager overnight. Well let's rephrase it for gary rowett.you have definitely become a bad manager overnight.after last night's performances I don't think he has any more of an idea than Hughes or lampard Thing is, we all want biscuits in our tea but moan when they break off and slump into a slushy mess at the bottom of the mug. It doesn’t taste awful but it ruins both biscuit and tea with that sort of sodden crumble it leaves. It’s not what we ordered at all. Maybe we should have just settled with enjoying sipping tea and eating our biscuit separately. Who knows? Everything’s easy with hindsight. Some biscuits last longer! Maybe we should have used a hobnob or even lump a massive wad of flapjack in there. Not too hard of course, you don’t want hot tea splashing all over the place and scolding your face. Maybe we want too much from tea and biscuits. I for one like the idea of a chocolate digestive saturated with hot tea, but then when faced with the reality of it, there’s always that chocolatey residue sitting on top of your tea like a tasty toilet swap. Pleasant on the buds, not so much on the eyes. ROWETT OUT!!!
