Anybody know if we inserted anything into the deal (like Norwich did when they sold him to us)? £500K to Burnley?

They're not going to tempt him north again, are they? Certainly not to Burnley?
Moving closer to his girlfriend was his primary reason for leaving, wasn't it?
And wasn't he one of Norwich's better players last season?

Didn't he move to Norwich to be closer to his southern home? Has Burnley moved?

You'd have thought that Palace or Charlton would be front runners if Norwich did let him go.

To be honest I thought we missed him in the early part of the season. His energy levels take a lot of the burden off other players. Useful squad player in any Championship side, I'd have said.

Them 2 teams will be fighting for premier league next season, so will want someone who can pass a ball, Delap is a lot better than him, and glenn whelan need i say more whelan is better than eustace and russell put together imo but thats the not topic here, and early in the season i thought we missed higgy.

I agree with Fornside, it took us quite a while to move on from him. Still can't for the life of me ever understand why Matteo and Delap were choosen before him at QPR 06/07. Yes Delap had a fantastic end to the season but if you think he was a preferable option at the start of the season you're a mentalist. Even when SJE started to come back I think we still had a hole in our team.
500k won't be enough for Norwich as long as he stops getting sent off.

Russell was very influential to the way we play. Although he wasn't the prettiest player, he harried the opposition superbly and broke up the play very well. His form in November 2006 earned him Championship player of the month- shows he wasn't quite as bad as people thought Despite this, I wouldn't swap him for either Delap or Whelan now- but at Cardiff away I would have bitten someone's hand off for him when I heard the line up announced

Darel Russell has been on of Norwich's key players since his return. He is a fans favourite.

You'll never get promoted if Rusty is one of your first choice midfielders. Great athlete, but not a footballer.
