No, babe, you're getting a bit mixed up - that was a conversation you and I had about Harry....... (you remember, when you rang me & wanted the recipe for my Banana, Coconut, Sultana & Walnut cake and we got chatting for a couple of hours........) ........and I said I thought Harry LOOKS LIKE Fanny Haddock - sorry - Craddock. All coming back now, is it, babe? xxxxxx PS: "My hands ('hends') ARE clean. Johnny's just doing the wine." I remember it very well murph. I think you weren't far off with the "haddock" There's always been something fishy about Harry Even the drivers seat of his car smells like a shit'us door off a Grimsby trawler Again, that could be his age tho Now now......... Chuck wagon okay, hon? And will we really not being seeing you next weekend???? Cruelly depriving us of your sparklin' company......

Should we start a petition? HarryB for Masterchef. Way beyond my skills, I'm afraid. My culinary masterpieces are dinner: crunchy peanut butter & honey sandwiches, tea: tuna, rice & salad cream, supper: cabbage sling.
I applaud your dedication with the singapore sling, Murph. It took me 5 years to decide I liked whisky, but now I do like it. I really, really like it ... Pineapple? More bleurgh. Coconut too. Fruit should neither come in shells that break your teeth, nor in containers that stick spines in your hand. Are are they fruits? Nuts? I read somewhere that bananas are actually herbs. And that banana trees walk. Although that might have been after I'd sampled some cask-strength Laphroaig.
Pass the Ardbeg over, vicar, I need to contemplate these deep questions. Oh, and not to divert from the OP, I'm delighted Masterchef is back on. Great tv. Except for when they have that know-it-all tosspot Andy Peters on.
You sound as if you're a more talented cook than I am, Q....... Chuff's a good cook, too. Specialises in raw curries. Maybe we could get Chuff to go on the show if Harry isn't keen, in a SCFC top, of course. Strange how most of the posts on this side of the MB, whatever the subject, usually get on to the subject of liquid refreshment eventually! If you're a scotch drinker you need to link up with Bisp to compare notes, if you can catch him - he'll be almost guaranteed to be on the Cricket thread! He's the Oatie's resident expert on every blend of scotch known to man, especially the posh stuff like Laphroaig. Raw curry? Flippin 'eck, Tucker. I thought I could smell smoke this morning; I know what caused it now ...
Scotch? Blend? Might as well call him a Bells drinker. Yeeek. Single malt it the only way to go, as I'm sure he'd point out to you. I like a good Islay myself. Peaty, iodine/seaweed, smoky. Yum. had a beauty of an Ardbeg special at a tasting the other week. Guy running it asked us all to describe the taste in no more than 2 words. Our table were coming up with the usual smoke, seaweed, hot tar etc. So I gave the chap "Spanish Armada". He liked that.
Just recalled another culinary masterpiece of mine - hovel pie. Very much like a cottage pie, but I don't live in a cottage.

Yeah, as well as the impressive gymnastics Chuff's definitely a man of many talents when it comes to the culinary arts, Q. I can only dreeeeeeam of being so good. I'm afraid you're wasting your time talking to me about scotch - sorry - as I know literally nothing about it as I can't stand the stuff! (Apart from that one highly enjoyable evening on the Rusty Nails.......... another case proving my personal theory that if you drink enough of some sort of 'liquid refreshment' that you don't really like you'll eventually acclimatise yourself to the taste.) Hovel Pie....... ahhhhhhh, bless. (**pause**) Wait a minute....... Isn't that the half-time snack at the unmentionable place in Boslem?

Seemed like a good idea at the time. A lesson in how to get rid of 12 hours in one go. The 3 ladies in our party of 6 rented a small outboard the next day to go round the island. Happy days. PS. Never again. Rusty Nail that is. At least not in Greek quantities.
