Only watched two minutes of it and more pace and urgency from both teams than we did all game. Just what is going on with our movement and ability to run....it’s just weird.

I have watched at least 45 mins of each TV championship game so far, sadly 90 of ours yesterday. Dulls defence looks as vulnerable as ours though 3 of theirs are new players ours have played together many times. What we need is a player in front of the back four like that Whelan fellow doing a fine the job for Villa

Anyone else enjoyed watching Glen Whelan barking instructions at his teammates, getting them organised, always being available to receive a pass thus creating space for other players to receive the ball and quite comfortably managing to pass the ball to a teammate in a manner that enables them to actually do something with the ball?

Grealish is so good but could be so much better. He really needs to start scoring/creating.

Shocked at the empty stadium, first home game and you can read the letters on the seats.
Let's just hope we don't get drubbing on satdee or we will be seeing bet365 in no time

Dull dull dull. A few Hull fans bothering to turn up may have helped.... To be fair, there will be no trains to get them home on a weekday evening kick off and at best a drive home would see them getting back to Hull for about 1am. Think I'd rather put my feet up and watch it on sky too...

Shit owners. First time in over 40 years I've missed first game of season. Sucked the life out of the fans and club have the Allam's.

Villa 3-1 up. That just about puts the cherry on the maximum wank of wank football weekends.

Must admit watching him do the job he’s there for ie break up the play and keep things simple reminds me it would be nice if we could have a midfielder that could do that!

2 clubs owned by Egyptians, and an Egyptian scored a goal, interesting.
Anyway Aston Villa will be a big fish this season.

Villa are probably like Swansea, Brentford, Leeds and Derby candidates for PL.
Hull could on the other hand be extremely bad. From what I've seen so far.

Best thing about whelan is that it wasn't his natural game either. He arrived at stoke a totally different player to the one he is now, a box to box player who could chip in with a few goals. He sacrificed himself for the good of the team and played the role that the manager demanded of him because he is a good and intelligent footballer. We don't have good intelligent footballers in our midfield anymore

What about Stoke City and West Brom they are supposed to be candidates too. Congratulations for Sweden, they were much better than my expectations but there was no chance to tell you that.
