Right this might upset a few but that was shit ,total utter shite that looked devoid of any sembalance of the required level.
I predicted last season we would go down,i was called a knickerwetter.This team was awful.
Well let me tell you as a kid I was coached at Stoke as my close friends know, which included tacticts, 4 3 3 we were told required ball playing defenders, a balanced midfield and whether if it was a wide forward 3 or a closer forward 3 the ball had to be worked forward slowly with extra man in midfield.
Today Stoke played a wide 3 requiring balls played from the back,into midfield and runners slid in to the channels and centre forward.
What we saw was a total mish mash of isolated players up front,midfielders who couldn't pass wind and hoof from lower league looking defenders.
Hang your head Gary Rowett and his coaching team you couldn't have done a worse job..The defence looked like a league 2 defence it was that bad.The midfield just a shambles,did Allen find a Stoke player all match,fucking shocking.
We have huge problems,the knickerwetter.

I was not a fan of his appointment to be honest he has not really done anything of note.
My Derby supporting friend said at the time that we could regret giving him the job as he never had a plan when things were not going well. Time will tell if he was right but things do not look to good at the moment.

For me , in todays football , you go 4-3-3 for a Liverpool style high press
Get the opposition rattled , stop them playing out from the back , try and get turnovers high up the pitch
Stoke came out with a novel approach , never seen in professional football until today
4-3-3, but , and here is a twist , standing off the opposition , and letting them play it out from the back
Mind blowing
Different but bizzare

He was as stated at the time a totally unimaginative appointment , he doesn’t get teams out of this division is his great strength . Today he showed why totally unprepared , a midfield which was hopelessly structured , a game plan which was non existent , journey men signings exposed as just that .
Today reflects badly on him but more so on those that recruited him when others took imaginative options and when yet again we took the conservative route and bailked at going for the real deal or a really imaginitivd solution one of which exposed us today and then tellingly ignored Rowett as irrelevant as he walked off .
He will no get us out of this division and the gruesome twosome will shift the blame his way yet again , another woeful summer , another woeful pre season started to pay back today , Rowett is to blame for much of today’s shambles but the spiral of our fortunes cannot be laid at his door or indeed solely at the door of his predecessors no matter what shit the shambolic PR utterances say .
