2 I guess he did try and change it around. But his 4-3-3 formation was a disaster. Huge error with the players he picked to fit that system. Such a fundamental lack of knowledge of our 3 midfielders capabilities and strengths and weaknesses after working with them in training comes as a huge shock.

Pretty shit start tbh, not even rating that horseshit. Unfit, lazy, lacksadasical performance. I honestly couldn’t tell if that was a Hughes, Rowett or Lambert side as it was the same ineffective strategies with the same fookin outcome.

Maybe I should just follow your example and be a miserable negative twat no matter who's in charge? Negative or realistic I want the best for the club do you really believe we are getting that from our board ? Negative. About everything, not just Stoke.

1 for today. I thought the subs were positive if a little late.
I hope he can find a way of getting more of the players with footballing ability onto the pitch in future games.

That post last week ‘song for Rowett’
How about “sacked in the morning, you’re getting sacked in the morning”
Should have kept Tony!

1. That was about as poor a start as I've ever seen from a new manager. I know it's only one game but that was *that* bad that the alarm bells are ringing already and he's already under a bit of scrutiny. Another convincing defeat at home to Brentford and he'll be getting booed off in only his second match.
He couldn't have started any worse. Big big week in the transfer market and on the training ground. Things HAVE to improve and quickly.

After having high hopes I'm left with same old same old. I will be amazed if we finish in the top half never mind the top 6. The board should be ashamed of themselves. There comments/ statement at the end of last season were a response to Charlie's and Butlands media outburst. Somebody's head had to roll to keep us on side and it was the manager.
Overhaul my arse! Why are we stuck with so many aging deadwood players? Because they were cheaper than signing replacements in an ever increasing market.

The lineup and subs were good imo
most of the team didn't look motivated or fit though
4/10

Not the greatest of debuts for our new manager.
He put out what many thought was our strongest team-but how wrong could we be?
The defence couldn't defend, the midfield couldn't create/defend and the forward line was as bad as last year.If Peter Crouch is our plan B at 37 then perhaps we need to be looking further forward on our new signings.
I know it is only the 1st competitive game of the season-but we looked poor across the whole spectrum of the team.
A 3 from me.

Why is Rowett not getting any stick at all? In fairness to Leeds apart from Douglas they had the same team as last season and he completely transformed them. In contrast Rowett sent a team out who had no idea how they were going to play , unmotivated and no leaders. He has to take full blame for that. Would have been interesting to see how Bielsa would have had our team playing yesterday.

Would have been interesting to see how Bielsa would have had our team playing yesterday. That’s what struck me. I hadn’t heard of a single Leeds player, but they were, as a unit and individually, 50% better than us. That’s down to good coaching and our poor performance is down to, being charitable, less good coaching. 3/10

When your £35m rated keeper throws them in the net like that, does it really matter what the manager does?

Shawcross chip to Crouch seemed to be plan B. Might as well have got Rory on to take the throws. Plan A was a mid field that fell over each other. Poor mans Pulis. 0 Wrong. Plan A was Shawcross punt to McClean.

Leeds could easily have been 4-0 up at half time. We were shit from start to finish, would not have made a jot of difference to the outcome.

We were shit from start to finish, would not have made a jot of difference to the outcome. It's a completely different team talk at half down if you're 1-0 down. We weren't shit from start to finish we had a 10-minute spell in the first half when we were average. If you can't rely on your keeper to stop a pea-roller like that whatever hard work you do in a season will be undone.

When I saw the team I thought that looks good.
Then our midfield was totally ineffective and over run and could not match Leeds vigour and commitment.
Result, Defence exposed and dissaray, Attack isolated, alone and ineffective.
One positive. I thought McLean looked like he could be quite good.
Rowet 2/10

You can't give him anything other than 0 can you ?
That's as bad as I've seen us play, we never got near them, we did nothing when we had the ball, there was gaps all over the place.
Afobe has got to be the 1st striker to start a match and score with his 1st touch, in the 52nd minute FFS!!!
