At least he's recognised that. Any mention of getting players in?

No shit Gary. Ive not watched a full championship game for many years but when i have seen the odd bits it was apparent that high intensity is whats needed and its bloody worrying that our players never showed any all game. Its a dogfight in this league, we need to wake up.

At least he's recognised that. Any mention of getting players in? Yes but he didn’t really answer on the Sky interview but alluded to those who maybe don’t want to play in the Championship. It looked today though like none of them want to play in the Championship! BM

Just hope he has the bollocks to Bench Shawcross for Edwards or some other configuration. 'Fraid to say it but Ryan has had his day, so long, Ta Ta, arrivederci!

Why is he talking about Leeds ???
He should be less evasive and call a spade a spade
We stood off them , we let them play out from the back , we lacked menace and desire and it will be a very different for stoke v Brentford would have sounded better
If we show the same attitude v Brentford , it will turn ugly and GR will deserve that
He needs to get a grip and fast
Playing like that, is the players showing him who is boss
He needs to stamp his authority on this team and now

No coincidence then that the three who considers were a success were the ones he purchased. That’s a bit shallow when Crouch had the biggest positive impact.

These players are not your friends or deserve your respect until earned, Gary. You should be laying down the law and treat them as professionals when they behave like professionals, pride, guts and effort to justify the obscene money they earn. What's another sacked manager to these mercenaries?

Three cheers for Ramirez! What do you reckon he said after the first 45?.... They should be shouting at you, and do you know why? Because it's fucking half-time, and we're fucking 2-0 down to fucking Leeds! What the fuck's wrong with you? Get your fucking fingers out! Where's your bottle fucking gone?
And fucking pay attention you cunt, when I'm fucking talking to you! If you don't wanna wear the shirt, fucking take it off! There's thousands of kids out there who'd die to put that fucking shirt on. Get back on the fucking field, show those bastards what you can fucking do, or you can fuck off home on the fucking plane! You got that?Stoke lose 3-1

If any of that was a surprise to Rowett he clearly hasn’t been very diligent in watching video footage of last season. He should have at least taken a hint from some of the pre season stuff. The repetition of the same old short comings was nothing short of breath taking and doesn’t reflect well on anyone involved.

The new manager has them playing completely differently. Not defending the performance, but what video would have prepared him for that?

"You have to give credit to Leeds". What about all the coaching you have been shouting your mouth off about particularly on fitness levels? That was absolute crap and Mr.Rowett you are responsible for dishing it up. I can't remember being so embarrassed on a Stoke performance on the first day of the season and I have been watching Stoke since the mid 60's. Relegation fodder on todays performance.

He’s talking of videos of stoke games If he’d watched enough of last season games three quarters of that pile of wank starting eleven would of been shipped out in his first week

Speaking in the shadow of a 3-1 defeat in his first game as manager, Rowett stated: “I’ve said from day one that the danger sometimes is, with any team relegated, you think the players are good players because they’ve been in the Premier League.
“But we’ve had a poor season and you could see one or two hangovers, but I think players will build their confidence even if it takes a bit of time.
“And certainly we’d like to improve the squad, yes definitely.”
“Certainly, that was nowhwere near the standard that’s going to be required to do well in this division,” he stated, “and I think it will be a shock to some of those players.
“One or two players were surprised by the intensity and one or two didn’t do their jobs well enough. It was a tough afternoon.
“If you look at their first goal it was a simple pass into the box for a free man. We have to defend the little one-twos around the box better than that.”
“I think the last 10 minutes showed it when Crouchy comes on at 37 and injects something into our game.
“We started making tackles and looking to compete, but we can’t wait that long.
“For the time he was on the pitch, he was a handful. He showed a little bit more hunger than some players who started the game.”
He continued: “Leeds played well, but we helped at times with some of our defending as a team. It was far too easy for someone to play a pass and get round us.
“But we did have some moments in the game. I thought Tom Ince looked bright and James McClean looked bright and it was pleasing Benik (Afobe) getting his first goal for the club.
“But after that you could maybe see the hangover of confidence from last season.
“If that performance makes people realise what they have got to do, then hopefully it will be a positive.
“We have got good players, but we need to show that in this division. We have to earn the right. We have to show we can fight.”

He is a safe rather boring and predictable manager. Typical of those in charge Lessons learnt my arse It is the recruitment of players that worries me, mate. The Pizza boys go for good deals, but this doesn’t seem to take into account team shape and managerial ethos. I’m afraid the Pizza boys have to be sacked tonight and Rowett put in total charge of recruitment. So what if we pay over the odds for two or three players. We have to get back to the Prem and the riches there make the extra outlay worthwhile.

Just sign more premier league players then if you think they're good players. Alternatively you could actually watch how they have fucking played for the last 2 years, their demeanor and attitude.
I'm starting to think it's a danger sometimes, when you see a manager at a small club or clubs with a small budget, that they're good managers who, if given money, will be better managers............

Our biggest problems for me today were two things. Our defence is still recovering from a few years of Mark Hughes and our whole attack (etebo seemed to play further forward) were all new players that haven't played a competitive game together. These are both things that will get sorted over time but only if we sign 2 CMS for me. We need a more defensive midfielder along with someone that will link up play more with the attack (like Bojan). Either that or we need to go with two up front.
