Are there reporting restrictions meaning they can't cover the English Football League and Scottish Premiership on TV, or do they not consider them important enough?
Just saw a sports bulletin on News 24 which covered cricket, hockey, golf, swimming and track cycling; albeit three of those five were in the European Championships which they have the rights for. Surely at least a mention of notable results would be pretty standard? I found it bizarre.

I saw the ITV news at teatime and after the cricket report, and the European Championship round up, they just said football had resumed today and just quoted the Scottish Premier league results with no mention of the EFL at all.

Why would the BBC want to report on an anonymouse team that hasn't actually played yet?

Official BBC pecking order is:
English Premiership Scottish Premiership English Championship
So today you can see the Scottish Premier League results on the BBC Sport homepage but you have to click down to find the English Championship.
I presume if they tried anything else they'd get crucified by the sweaties on the governing panels.

Best bit is when they not only start pretending women's football is as important and popular as the mens' game, but on the radio they start announcing women's results without clarifying they are women's results.
Eg "Arsenal beat Chelsea in the FA Cup". Eh? Did they? Oh it's the WOMEN'S FA Cup.
Really pisses me off when they do this. Nobody, absolutely NOBODY is remotely interested in women's football. Leave it out or at least clarify it.

A further example....there were a couple of occasions last season when there was an international break, and on the BBC Sport website, the women's fixtures were higher up in the list than league 1 and league 2. On what planet????

I am guessing that some of you are either too young to remember or so old that the mental capacity for memory is impaired. This is the Championship. It is not part of the Celebrity Ponsing About on Grass franchise. Think of it like a David Attenborough show. They give lots of attention to all the really popular things such as sharks and dolphins. Then, very occasionally, they do a show where they find some gruesome bottom-feeder that looks like a cross between Jabba the Hutt and Luke Chadwick, with that voice-ver guy who just takes the piss. That’s us. We are now disgusting bottom feeders, with novelty interest at best, and we will get some occasional coverage accompanied by a sneering voice over.
