He's a legend. One of the best ever. An innovator.
I'm worried about tomorrow because of him. On paper they don't have much and he doesn't have much in the way of resources to work with.
One thing that might be his undoing is he will always stick to his philosophy and press high up and attack. Looking at their side we should be able to exploit that.

How does picking litter for 3 hours make the players empathise with the fans?
Who the fuck picks litter for a living?

He is one of the main reasons I am worried for tomorrow. It is an unknown quantity. I just hope it is another trial that fails and we capitalise on it.
We should, on paper, have too much for them. As we all well know, it doesn't usually work out how it should on paper for us.

How does picking litter for 3 hours make the players empathise with the fans? Who the fuck picks litter for a living? Leeds fans have had to watch rubbish for years...maybe he's playing the irony card...

Would imagine the litter picking was to give the players a sense of what the average fan goes through to afford to go watch football.
Mundane, boring jobs etc.
Its clever, entitled footballers on there huge wages, easy for them to get trapped in there own bubble.

No, he asked how long it takes the average leeds fan to work to pay for a match ticket. 3 hours. So he got the players to do some proper work for a few hours which happened to be picking up litter, so they understand the commitment their fans make to watch them

As a Leeds fan i have 1 major concern.
Not about Bielsa.
About his style.
Can it work without the top players his students have?
Pep, Poch, Simeone etc.
All play a similar style, all made it work, all have top class players and squads.
Can you teach and implement that style with a squad of average Championship lower league players?
His style works, but does his past suggest that maybe not without the very best squads?

He's a genius but a fucking mental one. Went tits up at his last 3 clubs so there's a very strong chance it'll happen again, especially with Leeds' track record.

I was more concerned in the prem with citeh, spurs, Liverpool all playing the 'HCP ' headless chicken press when out of possession because when they won it back you were in trouble. I think in the championship, even if a side wins it back off you, chances are, you'll have a chance to Nick it back again before you're in trouble. So all the fast running around for a whole championship season, I can't see lasting.

He’s a total head case, will he sit on his cooler box as was the norm at Marseille, or will he be off before the transfer window closes as at Lille
Expect an adventurous attacking formation, with big holes in defensive midfield you could drive a bus through

Cant underestimate the need for height in this league.

So all the fast running around for a whole championship season, I can't see lasting. Concerned about when we have it up the pitch. Say Shawcross wins it back, he may not be Xabi Alonso with his passing but if he can aim a big hoof in the general vicinity of Afobe for example and we dont win the ball back either 1st time or the 2nd ball then half our team is out of position. We wont keep the ball like City, going to lose it high up the pitch, to avoid the press just hoof it, if it stays in play then you got a chance.

That’s what depresses me about Stoke sometimes. We never take that kind of risk, we’re never at the cutting edge of anything.

Id never seen anyone throw a ball like Rory Delap before, that was cutting edge in its own way 😀 Its very exciting, a coach like Bielsa in a 2nd division. 50/50 imo, he will boss it or it will be horrific.

Bielsa was my first choice to manage England after Hodgson left. His focus is largely on player to player coaching then building a team around what they have learned together.
He never seems to last long at clubs so he's perhaps more suited to international managing. In 2002 the Argentina team he built should have been very close to lifting the big one.

Sounds like a load of old tosh! I think you will soon be able to add 'Leeds' to the list of teams he didn't last long at. Not that they won't beat us tomorrow mind!

How does picking litter for 3 hours make the players empathise with the fans? Who the fuck picks litter for a living? I think he was basically trying to get across that 3hrs worth of work is what it costs the average Leeds fan to buy a ticket. You have to admire his thinking/principles. The bit about the Burton/Bolton game would have been impressive too?

It's a pity we need litter pickers at all. If all these peasants stop dropping it the place would look a better place to live!

I can see them starting very well today but also being chaotic.
Bielsa in that interview talks about the Burton formation - is this when GR was in charge?
