A squad can't just keep throwing around the 'we like being the underdogs' tag all the time. For once I'd like to see us just fucking absolutely decimate everyone in our path as clear favourites. Bow down before Stoke City

We were the underdogs last season and that didn't get us very far did it. Were we?! Expectations of most on this board, most of the fan base and followers of the League would have had us safe in mid table. This season - teams will target us as a scalp for sure, just like West Brom and Swansea or any team coming down that would be hoping to bounce straight back. Will definitely make things that extra bit harder.

We are favourites because of where we have come from. A couple more performances like pre-season and the odds will lengthen pretty fucking quickly...

I think it means we won't 'feel the love' on the road, either our team or our fans.
Opposition players and supporters will not be respectfully doffing their caps at us as we roll in to town, instead they will be busting a gut to make it as unpleasant an experience as it can be for Stoke City.

There are advantages and disadvantages, if we are a team of chokers then it will be a hinderence, if we are positive we will have the majority of the teams on the defensive from the start.

Depnds on how strong our character is If our character is strong, then we will embrace it - treat as a benchmark to live up to - the very highest one there can be.... If our character is weak, we will shrink from it.... its very flattering, but its not really us.
Have always thought that the plucky underdog is rarely plucky really. It takes more guts to be champions, to hold your nerve, to have that self-belief in the face of expectation and scrutiny, to be dedicated and prepared; to really have skin in the game and to take the outcome very personally; more than it does to throw yourself at a challenge, huff and puff a lot, but actually give yourself the get out clause it you fail that 'at least you tried".

Yes - especially if our own supporters buy into it.
It's going to be a very tough season in a very competitive league - if we start getting on the teams back after a few reality check defeats the expectations aren't going to do us any favours.
We will only win the league if we recognise every game is going to be a battle. Any sense of entitlement by anyone associated with the club is going to be a problem. Confidence is one thing - arrogance something else.

We need to be aware that many teams will view us a bunch of overpaid, overrated Premier League pansies who can be kicked off the park. Last season, they wouldn't be wrong. If we don't prepare for a battle, we will be effortlessly rolled over by teams like...well, like us ten years ago.

Good. It'll add excitement and a bit more crunch to our games. If players are afraid of the fabricated "pressure" of being bookies favourites then they might as well pack in now.
