Having seen that theres plenty of there players we should be leaving in St Pauli and bringing some of theres back

Attitude matters
McLean and etebo , might not be the most skilled players in the squad
But at least they have attitude
If we turn up at St Pauli , or anywhere , in the championship , we need more attitude than the other lot .Not less .

Probably not as much as they should.
Goalkeeper:
Little difference at present between Federeci and Butland; who all of a sudden wants to show he can use his feet, when he can't. May as well let Butland go and recycle the money.
Defence:
Bauer and Shawcross look solid enough, BMI still looks injured and Tom Edwards is only a left back. We need signings
Midfield:
Joe Allen is limited as a free roaming midfielder, he's never really played well for us despite being excellent for Wales.
Fletcher and Adam are not athletic enough or talented enough now to break down teams.
Etebo was an excellent signing and with Ndiaye could afford to let Imbula roam the pitch.
Ince and McLean looked pretty lively, but didn't support the strikers enough. Choupo looked okay
Striker:
Afobe is going to need to deliver because whilst berahino was a lot better and better than crouch and diouf he still wasn't quite there. Get rid of diouf and crouch and sign a top target man

They need to have the same work ethic of their Leeds counterparts. Leeds are looking to sign Vydra and Patrick Bamford for a combined total of 18m...

They should have learnt that good timely signings are crucial to a bedrock of a season, especially when the season is disjointed due to tournament should as the world cup.
I feel that very few lessons have been learned.

I firmly believe that we will never get back to where we were until these two are gone. Any 'overhaul' needs not to be orchestrated by them, it needs to include them.
How they can survive after last season's shameful debacle is beyond me.
Until then, we are fiddling while Rome burns.

That we shouldn't be starting the season with Ryan, BMI, Cameron, Fletcher, Adam. What did Ryan do wrong exactly? I thought he looked leaner, lighter and more mobile than he has done for 3 years. It was one of few positives from the 70 minutes that i saw of the game. |

Are we really surprised ?
Once it became clear that as part of the promised "major overhaul" Teflon and Hoss were remaining in their positions it should have been crystal clear that not much was really going to change with the "process". After the initial splurge on Afobe and Etebo (how did that happen so quickly ?) transfers settled down to their normal turgid pace. We are now a week away from our opening game and the transfer window is almost finished now and yet we still find ourselves needing what is generally accepted by the fans as something of a major overhaul in itself :
1 maybe 2 CBs
1 LB
1 DM
Another winger
Another striker
Plus try to get rid of the dead wood that is still lurking around at the club.
Do we really think the Pizza Boys are capable of all this in the time remaining ?
Coates should be having a serious word with them both - get your fingers out or you're out of the club !

Hopefully Rowett is kidding us, and does know his best formation, he has lots of good players at his disposal, but the formations and selections are very confusing.

What I've learned is that I'm unsure whether to be shit scared or downright confused about how the season will pan out.
We are either lulling the opposition into a false sense of security with our pre-season performances or we are genuinely poor.
