Don’t we still need a striker? Are we still targeting one or does it hinge on a wing and a prayer that berahino turns good?

Yes we have brought one striker in to go with the ones we already had, none of which are really any good with only crouch being a goal threat.

Too many strikers and too many midfielders Not enough defenders for me. We have plenty of strikers but only Afobe is tried and tested at this level. Crouch if he stays is only an impact player. We need to loan / offload CM we currently have enough but if Badou and Imbula leave we need one in for each WING one more needed DEF at least 1 CB required as we’ve lost 2 in the summer We've got three tiers of players I think. The ones that most want to stay, the ones hardly anyone would be arsed to see leave and the academy lads. Butland Bauer Shawcross Indi Pieters Badou (the anger towards him show people want him to stay) Allen Etebo Bojan Afobe Haugaard Federici Tymon Sweeney Adam Cameron Afellay Imbula Chopper Berahino Diouf Crouch Edwards Souttar Campbell And I think that shows pretty well where we need reinforcements. Numbers and quality wise it's CB and winger. Quality wise it's CM and up front.

Lose Afobe and were down to the same dross as last season. WE DEFO NEED A STRIKER. Think we may change formation if we get another decent one as well.

I know they aren't seen as the answer, but I would like to see Campbell and ngoy get some time or lined up with really good loan moves. If N'Goy isn't yet quite good enough for struggling L1 Walsall, why would he be effective at promotion chasing Championship Stoke?

We have been after Gayle all through the window but he is reluctant to drop down a division

He's ending up less of a striker more as a wide player

I like the link to Gallagher as a new big man. Young, powerful and pacey, he could learn from Crouch in training and be his replacement by the season after. He could also be a good foil for Benik if we go 4-4-2.
Diouf could be decent cover across the front three too, but this Berahino resurrection is a big gamble.
Afobe is our starter and must stay fit and in form if we really are to be at the front of the promotion pack.

I am a huge fan of Sam Gallagher
If he joins , I think he will be terrific for us
He is like an anti- joselu , in that he will get in the box and Get on the end of things
But he can run the channels too , he is just a good all round player
Whenever I see him for two minutes on the championship ,on channel 5 , he is on loan somewhere and having a blinder .
He has to settle and come good somewhere ?? Surely ??
I hope he ends up at Stoke

Sam Gallagher in , berahino out
He is a better player than berahino in every possible way
Plus he scores goals
Will cost us millions , but f*cking up big time in the transfer market , is never cheap

We definitely need a striker as we cant rely on Diouf-Crouch-Campbell-Berahino as regular starters.
BUT everyone is forgetting a possible option in Bojan
if we go 4-2-3-1 with Bojan re-discovering his form under Rowett he could easily bag 10-12 goals this season.
That would be my preferred choice. IF we do sign another striker it really means there is no place for Bojan in the team at all. Based upon how Rowett used Vydra last season I think he has half an eye on Bojangoals being a regular starter which I think could work playing off Afobe
