I read on the sentinel we are actively trying to sell Choupo-Moting.
I guess this is Rowetts decision after taking a look at him and either:
- not liking his attitude - not liking his work-rate - wanting a proper winger in his position
It looked to me that Choupo was happy to stay in the Championship. Im a little surprised we want him out. His first season was quite productive in terms of goals and assists and expected him to feature a bit.
Thoughts?

He's happy because he's happy to run his contract down again for another big chunk of money.
But, my views are clouded because I really don't like him - I'm man enough to admit that.

I suspect he’s probably happy to move on and we’re happy to move him on.
Rowett, rightly or wrongly, clearly wants grafters, and even if the ground covered stats do suggest EMCM’s ‘laziness’ was overstated, there were times last season where he visibly switched off and wasn’t up for it. Replacing Arnie with him was a big part of our woes.
No great loss and if we can get £3-£4m for him we’ve at least made a decent profit we can use to strengthen elsewhere.

He isn't suited to the way Rowett seems to want to play so probably best he is moved on IMO.
Shame as I quite liked him, but better players have left and worse have stayed on.

A man who had ability but with the exception of 1 game against Man U. consistently failed to deliver when required. He’d beat men for fun 15 yards either side of the half way line but become almost as flummoxed as Ramadan when he got around the box. A physically big guy who went over easier than Bambi and had the heart of a shrinking violet. I’d consider any fee a godsend and be thankful to get this charlatan off our wage bill.

Am indifferent to his selling to be honest. He said himself he's nothing like Arnie. He wasn't wrong. Zero defensive contribution.

Chouey wasn't that pacy but when he first arrived he could beat opponents with his physicality and decisiveness. When our form really started to fall apart though he dropped off altogether. I think the turmoil shot his confidence completely.
But good luck to him if he goes.

He'd certainly score goals in the Championship and if McClean is the replacement, he won't chip in with anywhere near. He's not an orthodox winger though is he so perhaps Rowett can't work him out. What's his value? At least £5 million I'd say...

Hearing Lenny talk whilst look down at him parading around the pitch taking selfies as we'd just got relegated will forever taint my opinion of him. Along the lines of Roy Keane phoning Savage and being greeted with 'that' answerphone message. Nah, fuck off.

I don't think Chuppachup was suited to a relegation battle but then again I don't think he signed up or was bought for one 🤔

Been said before, he's seen as lazy, I dont think he is on the pitch. My guess he's half arsed most of the time about Stoke and playing. We need players who love playing.(not in a bad boy street sense ;-) )

I'm not sure it's true to say he only had 1 good game against Man United or to compare him with Arnie.
Arnie is a one man, full international, attacking 'tour de force' of a player. Choupo is a bloke with a fancy hair cut we got on a free transfer.
Choupo certainly played well down at Brighton for example. You know how sometimes you listen to opposition fans chatting after a game to get a more balanced view. Well I took the park and ride bus down there and on the way back after the game they thought he was a real menace to them that evening.
I'm just saying. He hasn't been perfect, perhaps he's too much of a good natured 'nice guy' but if Rowett could get him fired up in the Championship I'm convinced he would be an attacking threat for us.

Unless anyone has seen him in training I'm not sure how anyone can anyone begin to offer a meaningful opinion about the player??? From what Ive seen on the pitch, he has talent but is doesn't offer enough for the team, he is a bit of a show pony who is allergic to any remote sniff of physicality.

I didn't compare him to Arnie, was talking about an interview Cheapo did early on when he joined Stoke, where people had said to him - he's the new Arnie. He said he wasn't - I was just agreeing with it.

He's bone idle, gutless prima donna more interested in his social media status than playing football. I have doubts as to how injured he was at the end of last season. Good riddance.
Given the choice though I would 100% want to keep him if it meant Mclean not signing.

I think you're confusing what the Sentinel would like to see happening by secondguessing the manager, with what Stoke/Rowett intends to do. Now as for my opinion only, I think Rowett wants to see every player on our books over the next few weeks before making any decision, unless a too good to be true kind of offer comes in. He's got time on his side. He can check up the player during the camp, in training back in the uk or even in the team until August 31 as international trading stays open until that date.

A free signing who with 2 years on his contract he must be worth £3-5m which if the proposed signings make him a back up player seems quite attractive.

I’d bring him on as a sub or push to sell he’s clearly talented but a bit of a bitch when it comes to doing aaard work at times as he sulks and goes into lalaland when you need him most.

Really thought I was going to like him when he first arrived but honestly, just apathy towards Choup now. If we can get a decent fee and spend his wages on another Glenn and another SJW (no harm to dream), can't see any reason why not.

Bundesliga mid-table club, 5 or 6m? Surely there'd be some interest? Even Hamburg in their rebuilding to get back up? He is from Hamburg, they were his first club, and we play them this weekend!!!
