'limited' doesn't really cover it. Stein was the most proactive striker I've seen at Stoke,Regis was the opposite. It always seemed a surprise to him when the ball turned up in his vicinity. However he was game and could larrup it home often enough. Seen worse strikers. You’re having a dig af Sadio 😇 Berahino should be an infinitely better player. Should be...

Met him some years ago during the Joe Jordan days. I went up to Peterborough to watch us “play” an away game. I decided to make a weekend of it with my then wife in Peterborough, so booked us into a hotel. I turned up at lunchtime Saturday and went to check in to find Big Dave sat at reception ( no not working) seemingly trying to chat up the receptionist. He asked me if many were coming down. When I told him that I had come up from the South, he was truly gobsmacked. I think he was equally gobsmacked that any of us could afford to stay in a hotel, and that anyone would do so to follow Stoke at Peterborough. The game was a shite 0-0, and Peterborough was...........well Peterborough, I ended up getting divorced ( although to be fair it wasn’t just down to that Peterborough game) and I can confirm that Big Dave Regis, despite coming across as a really nice bloke.......couldn’t even score in reception.😀

He was an underrated part of our title season. Bloody dead fast played across the width of the front line and scored a few goals. He e took some of the pressure off Mark Stein.

The famous stick in the mud shot from Dave Regis is within these highlights! This must be one of the wettest games I have ever attended

Played alongside Steino but in my opinion was never as good as Bertie Scored a few but never prolific. I will always remember him for kicking the ball that got stuck in the mud at Vale Park. Me and my mates were having a mental celebrating when to our disbelief the ball stopped in a pool and was cleared. We went onto lose and took out our frustrations on the back of the stand ( when I say we I mean Stoke fans, not me and my mates!!!!) I too remember the screamer Vs Watford and I also remember in the oatcake smudge saying he bumped into Regis up Hanley and Regis was eating a king size mars bar Why I recall this garbage I don't know Biggins and Stein were a Premier League standard duo playing in the third division. The best pairing the club has had in the last 40 years. Only Sheron and Sturridge came close. Don’t forget about last seasons net busting partnership, Diouf & the spectators in seats 336, 597, 511, 390, 114, 757, away ground seat N/os not provided

He was hit and miss to be honest but his pace was frightening for that league I remember, I think against the Baggies, he was on the left side and jumped to win a flick-on header and then landed and immediately ran after his own flick-on (and he got there in front of a centre-back who had a 10yd start) His screamer against Watford was a tad lucky (it touched another player and this imparted a Roberto Carlos spin on the missile - went like a banana into the net)

One of the best goals Ive witnessed away at Portsmouth scored by Regis Was that one of the 3.3 games? Think Regis scored a last minute equaliser at Pompey. That was quite the mental 👍🏻

Extraordinary ability to find space, married to a goalscorer the likes of which we'd be extremely fortunate to see again. The Kelly Brook* of strike partnerships * Corking pair

You are either joking or deluded, I loved them both but top flight strikers! Stein had one good run in the top division at Chelsea in 93/94 scoring 8 from 13 league games immediately after leaving us but then scored 8 from 32 over the next two seasons. Biggins time in the top flight saw him score 9 from 51 over two seasons with Norwich. They were respectively a very good and a good striker at second tier level.

Biggins was a kid when he was at Norwich Biggins on his own would have been ordinary at Prem level however his partnership with Stein was special
