You can`t blame West Ham for other peoples errors. If Peter Coates had seen this opportunity he would have been over it like a rash. Brady and the rest at West Ham must have pissed themselves when it got signed off. Its not a matter of blaming West Ham, that is not the point at all. The point is they are a club subsidised by the taxpayer with all the privileges that go with it, because of a dodgy deal done between Government ministers from a Party getting donations from the those they handed the Stadium to. They are getting advantages that no other club are getting. If we were in that position and had gone about it the same way I would fully expect us to be the focus of the wrath of football fans across the country. I agree with you , but no board of any other football club would have turned the deal down .

They're as bent as a 9 bob note. But they're building quite the squad. I hope it falls flat on it's face for them. If it does, It'll still be the taxpayer picking up the buck.

But not every football club board would have manouevred themselves into the position to benefit from this...i.e through donations to a Party Political who were in Government Cant imagine a club who donate to the Labour Party getting this windfall from Boris Johnson!!!

Thank you... Any detail on the figures? Or have they been dragged out on being released? I did note something about London being responsible for £21m of expenses for something last season... can’t remember but it surely raises questions on fairness in using taxpayers finance. They were released. I don’t have them readily to hand ( not least because I’m in France 😄) but I’m sure a bit of googling would do the job. There was quite a bit of publicity following Richard Hunts win at the Tribunal. He’s a Charlton fan BTW.
