It's that time of year where the lasses of Leeds take their favourite spoon on holiday

If someone said spoons to mine she's immediately thinking about the old Post Office in Newcastle.

Great. Now parents can check their child’s person for a spoon, now they know all about it. It raises the question why children need to cutlery to raise the alarm? Can they not say ‘Help’ or ‘I’m being married against my will’ to burly people in uniform at the airport? I wonder what other kitchen ware Leeds schools will use to encourage kids to speak out? Perhaps a toaster presented to The Environment Agency will indicate the illegal removal of asbestos? Or stuffing a colander up their jumper indicates the presence of Colorado Beatle?

I call it ‘cheap seats’ my favourite has to be Harrogates winter gardens, followed by Blackpool’s velvet coaster. Still amazes me that people look down there noses at weatherspoons. More often than not the beer is the right money foods ok you can talk to each other . What’s not to like

I like the spoons attached to Lime St Station, Liverpool. A lovely venue with nice views of St George’s Hall opposite. Does anyone remember getting locked into Islington spoons by the police before a cup game at Highbury? Apparently Islington spoons is the biggest in the country.

So rather than discuss this very serious problem that is being inflicted upon our country, we're just going to make shit jokes & talk about pubs instead? It's no wonder these girls daren't speak out about what is happening to them as seemingly no-one gives a fuck.

I agree about the shit jokes and hijacking of the tread on a fairly serious subject. “Why don’t the kids just raise the alarm at the airport?” Because they are only kids. Frightened kids, probably. It does seem idiotic for the BBC to have raised awareness of this in this way. The kids would likely have learned about it from their mates. But, sadly, their ‘community’ would have become aware of the trick eventually and searched for it anyway. I’m not sure I agree with the schools offering the advice and even providing the spoons. I’m all for a school reporting suspicions about a kid getting beaten or abused and that sort of thing but this practice, however well intentioned, might fall below the line of a school’s responsibilities in my opinion.

It's no wonder these girls daren't speak out about what is happening to them as seemingly no-one gives a fuck. DC , what I've never understood and have asked but never had an answer for ( and U don't mean just in the EE and I honestly don't know the answer either but would welcome opinions): We've just had a women's protest against Trump and that is understandable , given his pussy comment etc. I think many men in the public eye could also be a target and given the Weinberger case the power over women issue needs constantly addressing BUT how come we tolerate a philosophy which ( if you only superficially examine it) that subjugates women , ( some of the community whom are involved in )inflicting gbh on minors ( when you actually think what FGM is , viciously mutilating a child in the worst possible way against her will), organised exploitation of a different cultural group and are anti gay. Of course I can be accused of bringing the issue back to a recurring agenda.....but to me it is like the elephant in the room..,..it is as though there is an agreed mindset approved by the authorities that says we should turn a blind eye

Wouldn't a fish knife be more appropriate ?, why the fuck don't they just open their mouths and report their fears ? Culture and the potential for an honour based murder means there is a real risk of harm before they are safe. By putting the metal in underwear it triggers the alarm which then means a private search with security and once in a safe place and away from mum and dad, they can say what is happening and be looked after. This stuff sadly is a reality.
