I'd just prefer my club had higher standards than Beharinho and put their time, money or energy into projects more likely to come off.
If I was an ambitious player looking for a club and saw Stoke had Beharinho, it would mark them down as either desperate or having something fundamentally wrong with the culture, to tolerate such a wanker
Mr Bauer is a nice guy though and a great player and nice he posted what he did.

Berahino has behaved like a complete knobhead - but if he's putting in the effort and genuinely wants to put his career back on track we could benefit big time. With the likes of Kevin Philips teaching him his trade and someone like Bauer giving him support and encouragement he might finally have people around him to help him get over himself - and maybe that's whats been missing for the last couple of years.
As a Championship side there's no way we'd attract anyone anywhere near his pedigree. If he's doing enough to convince those around him he may have something to contribute - and the noises suggest he has - then getting rid would be an act of monumental stupidity. And Bauer may have a point - the final piece in the jigsaw of Berahino's rehabilitation might be a bit of support from the terraces. And all that will take is an early goal,

No matter what he does in Stoke colours I'll always hold a grudge because of the way he comported himself last season.

IF
he gets his head and heart back in the game and rediscovers his form and talent then we have a £20 million plus PL striker on ours hands.
If he doesn't then weve got what we've had for the last two years....
NOTHING TO LOSE.

Leeds away 1st game Bauer crosses ball in for Saido to smash into net to send stoke on their way. Etobo and Allen to control midfield, we storm the game 4/5-0. Benik to grab a brace too.

Beating Leeds 4/5 - 0 either shows Leeds are piss fucking poor, or we're gonna smash the fucking league Thinking about it actually, I think it means both.

How long would you give him if he keeps firing blanks, a game, ten games? We need to hit the ground running and I'll be seriously pissed off if we don't get another striker in. What about the reports of him falling out with the squad and the potential ill effect that could have on morale. I hope he's sent out on loan if he's ever to return he needs to earn his way back into the first team, a couple of pre season platitudes from him don't cut it with me.

If inside the club they are resting their hopes on Berahino becoming a prolific striker then they have learnt nothing and we are royally fucked. I dont want to see him in a stoke shirt ever again. If all the fans chip in a few quid can we see the back of the useless twat?

So a Bauer thread has become a Berahino thread.
I like the cut of Bauer's gib. I was very pleased when Joe Allen confirmed he was staying and I was even more pleased about Bauer.

If all the fans chip in a few quid can we see the back of the useless twat? I think it's more that inside the club they see he is maturing and getting his head finally screwed on. IF that is the case (so far it seems to be) then he deserves a chance as he owes us. As someone said above people can mature like the Grealish example...no reason Saido can't do the same. He's on his last chance and no doubt he knows it, Signs are good so far

Bauer does seem like a really top bloke. Really breaks the mould not motivated by money, loyalty is a big thing with him.

You are confusing negativity with realism. In his eighteen months as a Stoke City player, Berahino has shown nothing, absolutely nothing, to give the fans any hope that he is anything other than a complete and utter lost cause. True, But tbh, exactly the same could have been said of Bertschin, and Biggins who had woeful first seasons in dire relegation teams. A drop down of a division changed both of those players into folk heroes.
Didn't Bertie score on his debut? A 1-1 draw with West ham and I think Ince scored for them before he left for UTD?

Assuming Rowett plays a 4-2-3-1 we currently have Crouch Diouf Afobe Campbell Berahino Choupo Who can all play the one....it would be madness to sign another forward without getting rid of at least 2 of those which i can't see us doing. If we do you alienate Campbell, Berahino, Diouf and Crouch.....that is not good for morale.

We need to hit the ground running this season with a solid reliable striker, how many games are you going to give him, 2, 5, 10? all the while we are getting deeper in the shit. No thanks, I want shut of him and I want a solid striker brought in, it's the only responsible thing to do to get out of this mess that Berahino was a part of making.

Ignore him. He clearly has an agenda. That finish from Saido in the friendly was clinical and the sign of someone with a bit of confidence...the fact it’s a friendly doesnt matter, you still have to put the chance away. Working with Phillips and having people like Bauer around him seem to be helping him. He’ll get just as much backing as any other Stoke player this season from me, and from the majority which is what is best for Saido and the club in general.

Hmm. Rather forthcoming isn't he. It's sweet but it makes me a bit uneasy. He's going to get himself into bother.
Also putting unnecessary extra limelight and pressure on Berahino, should he find himself playing

Does seem like he's putting more pressure on Berahino tbf. I know he's trying to big him up, which is great, but making bets with fans isn't a good thing imo.

Also putting unnecessary extra limelight and pressure on Berahino, should he find himself playing It could also be exactly what helps. I'd expect Bauer wouldn't be doing this if he hasn't already had a chat with Saido. He's definitely throwing him a load of compliments which can only help his confidence.
