Considering the circumstances we are in, we have done some decent business so far. Ok, there's a few of the dead wood that we look lumbered with but let's look at the upsides.
1. We got rid of the most useless manager we have had since Kanara and bought in a new man with a very decent record at championship level, who has already bought with him a fresh ethos and looks to have motivated our players to atone for last season.
2. Got rid of perennial wasters in Johnson, Ireland and Wimmer. Ok, Wimmers on loan, but at least he's not our problem for the next 12 months and, hopefully, we can move him on, albeit at a loss.
3. New signings - Afobe is amongst the best strikers at championship level for my money, and Etebo has looked absolute class at the world cup. Federici is a solid signing as a back up.
4. Better players look like staying - Allen and Bauer have signed new deals, Ryan and BMI both look to be staying as things stand and, hopefully, GR can somehow get Butland to commit to us.

I agree with the points that you have made, I just sense a undercurrent among fans that possible new signings are taking longer than expected. This is probably due to early business we carried out in this window hopefully we will get more newcomers soon before the natives get to restless. I think that the idea we become Man City’s feeder club has to be a positive, most of their reserve players would grace any club in Europe .
