Great work chaps! Are you all life long supporters or has the group grown over the last couple of years? And who is the inspirational player that captivated your support originally?

Im an expat meself but I bumped into this lot in Hamburg a couple of years ago. I asked them as well the same thing last night and it all stemmed from Ed de goey and Sir Peter Hoekstra playing for Stoke. THey wanted to watch a team ewith a good atmos and have a few scoops at the same time. The group as a whole is around 45-50 in total....a few were on holiday and others were sitting down and supping. Its not the numbers though its the giggle we all have... The rest as they say is histroy !

When we had De Goey and Simonsen we had arguably the best two goalkeepers in the Championship and Hoekstra still baffles me to this day how we managed to get him

Quality.. Holland's one of my favourite countries to visit & hadnt realised there was a good sprinkling of Stokies over there.. Went to many footy tournaments there as a kid & they always put on a good competition & looked after us.
Have also had many family holidays over there due to family links stemming from my grandad fighting in Arnhem during WW2, what a place the Airbourne museum is there. Have stayed with friends in a little town called Groesbeek when a kid too which was lovely. Remember cycling to a match as a 15yr old with our host to watch the local team play on an evening match.. Pedalling backwards to brake was an experience!
& as for Amsterdam, went there for my stag do.. What a place.. Truely has to be seen to be believed! We did also take in an Ajax friendly v Chelsea when we were there. Was great seeing a Hoekstra shirt in the bar/museum area at the ground. The atmosphere for a friendly was so intense & it was great being amongst against the Ajax fans when they won.. The place was bouncing it was like a cup final.
Always a shame when Holland don't make the finals of a tournament coz the show of orange in the stadiums is always a great sight.

I left at the end of 1992 but loved my time there. I used to go and watch Ajax in their old stadium (tiny place) with a couple of blue scousers and a drug dealer of their acquaintance from Antwerp, was all a bit mad really. Ajax used to play their big games at the old Olympic stadium and the times we had in the bars around stadionplein on match days/nights had to be seen to be believed. Loved it. Never met another Stokie living there though.

There's an ex Shelton lad named Patrick who has lived in Ijellstein near Utrecht (not sure I've spelt his village correctly) for maybe 35 years, he still follows the Potters. FC

Can remember seeing a few of the younger lads on that first photo at home and away games a few years back. They also used to call in the Blacks head when it was arguably stokes best pub just before the promotion year. Isn’t one of them the brother of Jalle Klaasen (darts)?

Close ...... but you’re mixing him up with Big Brendan surely ? No, this one’s got the same surname as that pair of Manx’s who sing Wonderwall !
