I heard him say it and thought it was strange but I'm not sure if he was talking as if he was Gareth Southgate.
Either way I laughed at the time and thought it wouldn't go down well, unlike his brothers wife.

That kind of stuff happens. I remember seeing Sunderland v Stoke on Yorkshire TV in the early 1990s and it had Dennis Smith on as pundit. He referred to Sunderland as 'we'. Seriously, you wouldn't believe how daft footballers can be!
