Can't believe how wrong I was about Ince. I feel pretty embarrassed. I really thought he'd be unstoppable for us given his previous record. The same goes for Afobe Tbf - i think there was a common factor which would have meant there was a good chance practically anyone was capable of failing when they joined us at that time, so long as we didn't root out some of the dry rot that was infesting the foundations - namely players with appalling attitudes.

I stand by what I said. I would not have signed Ince or McClean. Do not rate either of em, and never have done, and I also hope we get shut of both of em. Matt Ritchie I quite like. Ince as said before is too lightweight. Second rater for me! I'll also re-iterate that I wouldn't go next door to watch the likes of him!

He’d be the dogs in this league wouldn’t he? The thing is, I’m sure there would be a few bottom half Prem clubs sniffing around, add to that you’ve got to be talking minimum £15million for someone who is almost 30. Unless we can throw in Allen or Butland? Can’t see this coming off...

That is interesting. Presumably we wouldn’t be offering the super duper 76k a week deal we were purportedly offering last summer if the plan was to play him left back, but there’s nowhere else he can obviously play. Why the Christ he’d come here is the question.

Can't see it, if I was one of the Championship promoted clubs I'd take him. Must be others better than us interested.

1. Ageing forward on a free. 2. Beswicks goalkeeper. 3. Going back for the same players
For the times they are a-changin'

Don't misunderstand, I think he is a good player, but I prefer someone younger and on the rise for less money.

He would have been ideal in August 2018. Unless we clear the books I can't see us tabling a competitive offer, and let's hope he plays video games instead of watching football as there's no chance he would come here if he saw anything (with the exception of about four halves) of Stoke City's football this season...….

Signing Matt Ritchie to play left wing back ? Really.
If we sign him he needs to play in his natural position not as a squre peg.
Good player but again do we need another 29 year old on top of the millwall bloke ? We need to bring the squad age down.

I think this story serves to demonstrate that, sometimes, links are simply completely made up. (Surely).

Good player, reminds me of Liam Lawrence with maybe a bit more polish. Surely got no chance though? He's just had a decent season in the Premier League, surely he will either stay at Newcastle or go to another lower Premier League club?

It doesn’t but he’s been playing there for Newcastle and we’re not going to be playing wingers, or so it would appear.

It seems it's a theory based on Jones prefers the diamond and he's a winger, thing is though we need options don't we for formations for a plan b & if McLean or ince leave that leaves us a fresh face in the final 3rd because it hasn't worked with the current 3 this season. Verlinden & Ritchie would look a lot different with a new #10. Having said that, not convinced it's genuine interest

Left side of the diamond, he is a very hard worker as well as he is skilled on the ball. I don't want him though due to price tag and age.
