Yes, yes and yes. There are several crocs. Got to keep the tourists from paddling somehow. Are they submerged because they're gravity crocodiles, Murph? I wondered where they lived. And what's with the placcy bottle, do they feed on those when they can't get a bit of tourist? You may have found the answer to the problem of plastic pollution in the oceans. You genius, I'm sticking you up for a Nobel Prize.
I think you will probably find that the plastic bottle is the only bit left after the gravity crocs have "disposed" of the unfortunate tourists. Keeps feeding costs to a minimum I suppose.

Thank you, Dees, you've got it in one and have saved me the trouble of explaining it. That particular one must have secreted his bottle somewhere in his clothing - normally the tourists are instructed to leave all such things, plus cameras, phones, keys and all metal objects, etc., at the gates. They think it's for security reasons but it's actually because the crocs have a bit of trouble digesting all that sort of stuff.

Well, I don't want to give too much of the game away, Quiet, as the CM Rangers would be cross with me - understandably - in view of all the expert security work they put in round here on a daily basis, but let's just say that their training the crocs to stay largely submerged keeps the crocs 'cool and well fed'. Re. your last line, (shucks) you're not the first one to say that. I'd like to put a blushing smiley now, but I can never get it to work, so I'll just have to put one of these instead.

Mum's the word then, Murph. The secret of the gravity crocs is safe with us
Do you trust the Rangers? They'll know a lot of things about CM that could prove to be very awkward for you if they defected or sold their stories.
Just in case, I'd make them wear water-balloon-filled underpants that will detonate if they leave the grounds. That should deter them.

Got absolutely soaked at the end of a two hour walk this evening....... 20 minutes of torrential downpour. Fortunately went out prepared with a change of clothes in the back of the car. Back to the heat tomorrow and Sunday.

Lovin' this hot weather!! If only every summer was like this. You'd never want to go abroad. I agree, if only we could always have summers like this. It's been superb, weeks of brilliant, hot weather. Friday was quite a lot cooler and we had the first rain we've had in weeks, and that only lasted about half an hour. I suppose when the weather does change we'll have weeks of endless rain and cooler days and we'll soon be wishing for the heatwave to return.

It really was a relaxing few days thanks. Quiet and peaceful, no telly in the room hence attending the local bar. Read two books as well. (relatively short). I'm sure I can come up with a few ideas to use up my remaining 18 days hols. Oh, welcome back! Bit disappointed the hol's over, if truth be told, because it was enthralling keeping up with you on your travels - you were turning into the Oatie's version of Judith Chalmers (*) and the daily updates as to your activities and those of the local natives were positively riveting - we've all been on pins. In fact we were just about to change the title of the thread to something foody-footie-travel-y to reflect your trip, so are now all looking fwd to your next one. Can you arrange it quickly, please, Chuff? Ta ever so. (*) Anybody remember Alan Whicker and (gasp) Fyfe Robertson???!!! It's all booked Murph for the second week of September. A city break to Bordeaux. Watch this space!. 😊

We should have a "Holidays" thread on EE !
We're off to Austria and Southern Germany on 12th September for 8 days.
It could give ideas to other Oatie posters where (or where not) to go to.

I took a pic of it but I thought it was really creepy! And Vienna's definitely the place for luscious pastry shops…….

Don't remember it Murph, we only had 2 days and nights there tho before we got an overnight sleeper train to Krakow, we spent one of those days in Vienna and one of those nights stuck in the apartment cos we washed all our clothes and couldn't work the drier properly haha. From what I saw I was really impressed, the UFO tower (think that's what it was called) was fantastic at sunset for a (very expensive) beer, definitely a place I'd return to.

Oh, you'd definitely remember the 'manhole man statue' if you'd seen it, Eels, it had a creepy sort-of leering face and was bluddy 'orrible! ( Shudder). I don't know how to post a photo I took of it, but I'll see if I can find a weblink. The UFO tower is a new one on me! Mind you, I only had one day in Bratislava as I was en route to Budapest for a few days before, like your and Northy's itinerary, having another few days in Vienna. This was 2007. Where did you stay in Krakow? I stayed in the Radisson in 2006 and it was excellent, and especially the breakfasts were superb (and I normally never eat breakfast) - amongst loads of other things they had on offer every morning were the most delicious torpedo-shaped small dark rye bread rolls and tons of smoked salmon, two of my favourite things, so I was "well 'appy"! The Radisson was only about 5-10 minutes' walk away from the Cloth Market covered shopping place, where I had many happy hours of shopping and browsing, and spent a small fortune on a number of stunning pieces of amber jewellery.

Haha, we managed to miss that :/ We were in the square on the piss before we caught our train as well. Krakow we stayed in Angel apartments, near the town centre, they were a lot plusher than we expected to be fair, security guards and everything Loved it there as well, ended up in Cafe Philo getting pissed with a Polish (but born in London) street magician, the shortest, campest German I've ever met and some random goth girl, 4 am when we finished and we had to catch a coach to Prague at 10 :/

There was another for squid. Zapped them off quickly. And this weather is still too bluddy hot for me. Here's the other D-I-Y recipe for ockies I found a couple of weeks ago, Chuff, which I thought you might like. (Not for me, though! ) I thought I perhaps shouldn't put it on the EEFC thread or somebody'll start complaining! www.brindisa.com/spanish-food-recipes/spanish-tapas-party-recipes/charred-octopus-borough-market/

Weather back to normal for our first game at home in the Championship. Rain and Strong Winds.
Thought I would wear shorts to the 365 for the first time but now sounds like full waterproofs.
I blame Scholes. 🤪
