Dunno about anyone else, but I am watching Shaqiri in Switzerland games in a very detached, dispassionate mood: he is already not a Stoke player as far as I am concerned. Same goes for N'Diaye.
But as for his statement: good on him. The Serbs, or Bosnian Serbs for that matter, are fascist bastards with no limit to their cruelty. Their atrocities during the Balkan conflicts of the 1990s were reminiscent of the Nazis in Occupied Europe. I know several blokes who served in Bosnia with IFOR etc., who still get nightmares about the stuff they witnessed back then.

Christ an army is by definition an organised military militia.Stop quoting shite from wiki and Google and making a play on words the KLA and KLO are the same, and im sure those who died as a result of their alleged atrocities don't give a fig what they were called. Both sides lost people, the serbian team were respectful of this and Shaquri made disrespectful inflammatory gestures that i and millions more saw,and that is wrong.Aparthied was wrong but the inferred analogy you try to make is absolute bollocks . Irony overload, you were the one calling people thick then making referring to an imaginary group called the KLO of which there is no trace on the internet as well imaginary killings by the british army you mentioned. You have said a few times, there is no team for political statements on the football pitch I just gave you one very good example of why having no football was absolutely the correct political statement. Shaqiri ran to their fans to give them a FU not their players so your whole argument appears to be bollocks www.irishtimes.com/sport/soccer/swiss-duo-respond-to-serbian-fans-with-albanian-eagle-celebrations-1.3541715 Where have I once said no team for political statements? So i imagined was it 13 killings on bloody sunday? Mr Google

Seems a lot of hypocrisy on the site today. Both McClean and Shaqiri make their personal views public, ones considered to be an idiot and one a hero. Not suggesting which is right and which is wrong, but goose and gander springs to mind. McClean plays in England, Shaqiri doesnt play in Serbia. If Shaqiri protested about the Serbs while living there and earning a fortune as a footballer then there would be a comparison. McClean is entitled to his opinions but hes the hypocrite here.

Mr Google Good one I didn't read it back you got me there, however you referred to members of Mcleans family being murdered by the british army, that is imaginary just like you KLO is however it suits you best to just ignore this and you obviously think you are so smart that no one will notice this.

You are mistaken it was the Croatian Ustashi who were the fascists I know that. That's why I used the word 'fascist' without a capital letter. It was meant in the more informal context as meaning racially motivated extremists, not in its strictly political sense. Perhaps if I'd just written 'bastards', it would have avoided any misconstruction.

Not at all as I advised you it's best not to call other people thick when you abbreviate Kosovan Liberation Army to the KLO, you have then tried to claim they are the same even though google doesnt recognise this.

Keep politics out of football. 'We will now hear the national anthems...' Very true starkiller 😆 especially crushing the rebellious Scots. God save our gracious Queen Long live our noble Queen God save the Queen Send her victorious Happy and glorious Long to reign over us God save the Queen O Lord our God arise Scatter her enemies And make them fall Confound their politics Frustrate their knavish tricks On Thee our hopes we fix God save us all Thy choicest gifts in store On her be pleased to pour Long may she reign May she defend our laws And ever give us cause To sing with heart and voice God save the Queen Not in this land alone But be God's mercies known From shore to shore Lord make the nations see That men should brothers be And form one family The wide world over From every latent foe From the assassins blow God save the Queen O'er her thine arm extend For Britain's sake defend Our mother, prince, and friend God save the Queen Lord grant that Marshal Wade May by thy mighty aid Victory bring May he sedition hush And like a torrent rush Rebellious Scots to crush God save the King

Errmmm I recognised it straight away I just pointed out best not to call people thick when you abbreviate Kosovan Liberation Army to the KLO, the only reason I continued to mention it is that you continued to claim they were known as the KLO along with other made up claims like below, its not being pedantic to pull you up when you keep posting untruths numbnuts "Err they were known as the KLO.And James McLean had family members murdered by the British army."Read more: oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/280547/shaqiri-celebration-scrutiny#ixzz5JYZMAbII

Surely it would be less of a problem if you could only play for the country you were born in, and not your Frannie or milkman. And that you were proud to play for them.
