Funnies, funny. It doesn't mater what colour it is. But there's no accounting for Michael McIntyre

The man who thinks Mrs Brown's Boys is good. I lasted two minutes with that bilge and that was two minutes too long. Don't get me started on Miranda Hart.

There are exceptions. The female reboot of Ghostbusters was much better than the orginal, said no-one, ever.

I don't know if the decision to make certain "comedies" is down to a committee or ultimately just one person at the Beeb (or a similar set up at ITV etc) but the majority of stuff that does get shown is just so not funny it makes me wonder if I'm missing the humour as I get older, or if (as I suspect) it just really isn't funny. I also don't see the need for there to be strong language in almost every "comedy" programme nowadays. I check the description of the show on BBC i-player and in almost every instance it mentions the "strong language" - why is it necessary to have to swear to be funny nowadays ?
I liked Detectorists which has now sadly finished, and some parts of Car Share, and the only other comedy I can half tolerate is "Not going out" with Lee Mack. I might have forgotten some half decent comedy but overall the rest is just unfunny garbage IMO.

Imagine the uproar and outrage from the usual brigade of perpetually offended cunts if the programme in your avatar was made today.

The man who thinks Mrs Brown's Boys is good. Probably the same one who shoves that pakistani family 'comedy' at us

I don't think BBC are limiting the chances of white comedians right know, mainly because Mrs Brown's Boys and Miranda Hart are on TV (I assume they are still on TV).

If you want to see the future direction that the BBC are heading, just listen to 5-Live on a weekday. The output during the day, up to 4pm at least, basically treats men as the enemy of the state. I was a regular listener but after putting up with their ‘all men are twats’ line for the past 12 months, I’ve now switched to Talk Sport. It’s primitive, but harmless.

Totally agree, they are appalling with their attitudes and agendas, 9 months or so ago Nihal Arthanayake opened up the afternoon show saying that feeding kids coco pops for breakfast was a form of child abuse because it was basically a chocolate food, and no he wasn't joking or trying to start a debate. I never listen to them anymore I've switched to Talk Sport and LBC.

It'd be unacceptable even if he didn't spout such drivel.

We're setting them up for a life of poor health.

We're setting them up for a life of poor health. Education, good. Hysteria, bad. Funnily enough, the last time I heard a snippet of Arthanayake's show, there was a woman on there whose comment was something along the lines of "I put a spoonful of sugar in with my daughters cereal, but then I thought, my God, I'm poisoning her." Frankly, I have as much disdain for that kind of OTT hysteria as I do for Jonathan Pearce and his "Ooooooh there was contact" everytime a footballer trips over an opponents shoelace. I used to eat bucket loads of the stuff, helped along by the shopkeeper round the corner who would maximise his profits by selling separately the powdery sugar left at the bottom of his sweet containers. My nan used to give me sugar sandwiches FFS. Anything went in the 70s.

And no not all kids eat appallingly mine don't they have a balanced diet of all types of foods because their mum and dad aren't lazy and irresponsible parents who just let their kids eat whatever they want for the sake of a quiet life and convenience.

If that 5live presenter you’re all talking about is the one I’m thinking of too, then yes I’ve heard him and he really is a bellend. He’ll even read out the texts that come in complaining about the BBC propaganda machine, with utter disdain in his voice as if he’s stuck on a bus next to a conspiracy theorist nutjob.
Newsflash BBC. Just because you air the publics’ criticism of your organisation, that doesn’t mean you aren’t biased. If anything it makes the bbc even more pig fucking headed.
The mental thing is, I don’t think it’s a case of the bbc not caring that they’re a deeply politically unbalanced organisation, I genuinely believe these people don’t realise they’re taking a giant shit on their duties of impartiality.
The BBC news site is pretty atrocious too. I swear a decade ago it was nothing like how it’s become. It’s become a liberal, social justice news site. The fuckers who run it maybe see themselves as countering the right wing press. The problem is, the likes of the express, the mail, the guardian and most other heavily politically biased papers don’t have a duty to be balanced.
It really is a very modern British scandal.
