He takes up the post after the tournament so what is the issue?

Seems like someone with a bit of power in the Spain set-up has gotten upset that it didn't all go through him with his blessing so he is planning on launching any and all toys from the pram as far and fast as possible.

He takes up the post after the tournament so what is the issue? He signed a new contract with Spain a week ago and they didn’t know he had agreed to join Madrid until 15 minutes before it was announced, not surprised they are giving him the boot.

Sack the snake on the spot you’re taking one of the favourites to the World Cup you’ve in the mean time feathered your nest By agreeing to manage a club side straight after So you’re quitting whatever happens
All that’s wrong with modern football me me me managers are the first to complain when players are tapped up or throw there toys out of the pram to engineer a move but seem to think it’s totally ok to do the same
Real Madrid and the like a cancer on football

I don't blame the Spanish FA, it's football politics in play. Real Madrid thinking they are bigger than the FA etc.
I don't think it will matter much to Spain. They play the same way regardless of the coach.

Didn't know that can see there may be a bit of a trust issue

Well this is fun!
I was kind of hoping he'd stay and there'd be a civil war in the camp between the Real players and their allies and the Barca players and their allies.

Surely firing him a day before the tournament is a step too far though?
Still can't see them doing that.
He'd get so much of the blame if they had a 'mare.

It will be interesting to see what compensation Spain will have to pay if they do sack him.
They'd effectively been sacking someone, who had just handed in a month's notice.

As Balague says, they're not really in a great place now whether he stays or goes. There's going to be so much drama around the camp..

I could see his lawyers claiming that he was already in Russia to do a job, one that wouldn't be affected by him going to Real once the tournament had finished. Isn't this more about the Spanish FA feeling pissed off that they were only told about it 5 minutes before Real made a public announcement?

But the Spanish FA will enjoy schadenfreude in the next two years.

I can see Del Bosque taking this one for a month. Wenger would be a great appointment for them in the short term though.
