In my opinion you can keep your 3pm saturday kick offs, nothing beats a night match under the floodlights.
You spend all day at work waiting the game, a mad rush to get there in time, but there's something special about night games that I can't put my finger on.
Should see plenty of night matches this season as the schedules start to back up.

They are ok if you live in Heron Cross mate but absolutely shit if you have to battle with traffic and or set off mid afternoon! BM

Loved’em as a kid. Used to walk there with me mates from Wolstanton in the early 80’s. Absolute mayhem after the games against the Gooners, Westham & Villa...

My favourite too. Home games under floodlights. I always felt more excited and optimistic for some reason.

Ah for one more pub crawl with my Dad from the Sea Lion to the match, past the chip van on the corner with the floodlights like a Mecca I missed a lot of those nights through being away

Not much fun being unable to get back on the day you got up, I can tell you. And damned expensive.

Fukin her self off footy should be Saturday 3 o'clock. Even though I don't have to get up early for work anymore I still am not a fan of evening ko

The nightness of games does give an extra sense of drama to a big game. When we beat West Brom to go top of the 3rd division that time. Also when we beat the shit with Stein. Being under floodlights gave the occasions a bit more. Also it breaks up the working week well.
Sympathy for shift workers and exiles though.

Wonder whether we’ll play on a Tuesday or a Wednesday this season?

Not much fun being unable to get back on the day you got up, I can tell you. And damned expensive. I have said that provided they are home games I will travel. There is one proviso. As you know I play Table Tennis in the Reading League and if I have a match I may not be able to drive up.

Used to love a good night fixture down at the Vic. The floodlights, especially on a foggy evening, used to make my bedroom look so eerie.

Wonder whether we’ll play on a Tuesday or a Wednesday this season? We'll play when Sky tells us to play.
