His record isn't average, he's improved each club he's been at. Without seeing the job through and achieving anything.... Still better than average. Seven out of ten for Rowett so far. It's fair to say let's not go overboard it's not fair to dismiss him as average. He's impressed at each club. We could have stuck with Lambert or employed Strachan e.t.c.

His record isn't average, he's improved each club he's been at. Without seeing the job through and achieving anything.... That's harsh on him. He was doing well at Burton when Birmingham came knocking, any manager would have jumped at the chance to move to a much bigger club in a higher division. At Birmingham he was doing well, took them from relegation fodder to the verge of the play-offs when their mad-cap foreign owner wanted a 'sexy' name & brought in Zola instead (Who duely took them back down to relegation fodder) At Derby he got them into the play-offs with hardly any money (Infact I think he did it by making about £10m profit) and then had a much more ambitious club with money to spend come calling. Which of those do you think he should have said no to & 'seen the job through'? Told Championship Birmingham to fuck off 'cos he wanted to stay at lower division, tiny club Burton? Told the Birmingham owner to fuck off & refused to let Zola into his office? Told us & our big budget to fuck off & stayed at Derby without a pot to piss in?

We needed someone who knows the Championship well and knows what it takes. We now have this. Other managerial suggestions on here did not. I think it's useful to have the knowledge of the league but I can't agree that it was necessary. what experience did the last 2 clubs that won the league have in the Championship? Newcastle and Wolves. for what it's worth I think we do have the right manager but because he is ambitious and from what I've seen and heard, I am impressed by his approach to the game.

At least he hasn't had a van with Rowett out on it parked outside the ground like Hughes did and at least he was our first choice not our third or fourth like Pulis was so he's had a better start than those two and they didn't do too badly did they?
I was unsure about him but (apart from his annoying speech impediment) he comes across very well. He seems keen as mustard, seems to have a plan and appears like he'll take shit off no-one. It's a very good start and I've warmed to him massively. I'm not sure what more anyone could expect off him so far. He's done decent jobs with progressively bigger teams but on a relative shoestring (relative to us that is) lets give him a chance to see what he can do with a bit of money behind him before we write him off.
Rowett in.
