Don't a lot of people do stuff for charity? Lets give all the fuckers a key to the city.

Not Toxic at a all. A wonderful challenge for a great cause. Good luck to them and I will donate.

Seriously who cares? Happy to donate its a good cause no offence intended, but they are many people who work longer and harder without thanks that do this kind of thing.

Must admit the old 'toxic' barb really riles me, he's one of our own for f*cks sake, and somewhere among our most successful 3 managers of all time, I mean why not just go the whole hog and refer to our club as Sjoke at the same time like some vale fans do?

More interesting was the link to the Delap interview about Rowett. Rory joined Rowett at Burton and later they were both at Derby. I have a strong feeling Delap is coming back to Stoke.

Self promoting whore. Stonewall fact.

He doesn't have to do this one bit. Fair play to the bloke.
His football might be dire to watch but his dedication to a local cause isn't. That side of things must never be forgotten.

Isn't this the same challenge that John Bishop did a few years ago for comic relief?

He's not one of my own. He's an ex manager who does a bit of charity work. H Same here. 'One of our own' in my eyes is reserved for folk who don't behave anything like the way he did after leaving or on their return. If others see it differently, fair enough, they're as entitled to their opinion as I am.

As must all of the incredibly hard work that many others do too. Do I get the keys to the city too for my fundraising efforts? Am I suddenly a local hero and legend? I do my charity stuff quietly, get on with it and do it solely for the cause without expecting anything in return at all. The "Toxic" thing is a bit too far, granted, but that's just a tiny number of extreme fans who have that hatred of him. Similar to those who have an extreme love for him and want to parade him around still every time he does something for charity. If we're holding someone in such high esteem for what he does for charity - then lets hold those who do even more in greater esteem.

Self promoting whore. Stonewall fact. If you hadn't added 'fact' I would have thought you'd made that up. Promotion back to the top flight after 18 other managers had failed over nearly a quarter of a century. Kept us in the Prem in those early, brutally difficult years while the club built up its infrastructure First and only FA Cup Final in the 150 year history of the football club KO stages of the Europa with our first and only ever victories in Europe Recognition of Stoke City at home and abroad that the football club has never seen before or indeed since. Doesn't really need any self-promotion for his time with Stoke City.

What does having the freedom of the city even mean?
Fair play to TP, like others have said he doesn't have to do it. He's a great bloke, who when he's your manager he gives 100% - and that includes against us. That's just the way it is.

That's fair enough but it can't be denied he's our most successful manager in recent history, who at the time helped make our dreams come true with the Promotion, FA cup final, Europa League. He still has the City in his heart, it's just a shame some of us don't have that place for him. Maybe when he's retired, or if we spend another god knows how many years out of the top flight people will look back and really appreciate his accomplishments.

Loved him for what he did for us but like anyone he too can be a figure of fun, though the feelings for and against him on this forum are far easier targets at times 😬
If nothing else he brings about passion!
The ultimate in Marmite in football! 😉

Often found those who state on their keyboard how much they hate are actually nerdy little wimps and if they met TP would probably say oh Hi Tone and shake his hand. Keyboard warriors about as much backbone as a jelly fish usually spineless fuckers hiding in their bedrooms waiting for ovaltine from Mummy
