Who was it who slid in at the far post and narrowly missed towards the end of the game? Possibly shaving the post? I think it must have been to grab a winner before the end of 90 minutes? Was it Paul Connor?
Just somat that's been bugging me....

And one further question about that incident. Who believes some reason wouldn't have been found to disallow the goal if it had gone in?

Cheers! The passing of time had puddled my memory and I had it in my head that it was Graham Potter, but I realised today that was half a decade earlier...

In my annoyance I wheeled two large commercial bins into the main road coming out of Gllingham
I apologise to any Stokie I delayed that night

Brynjar Gunnarsson was immense that night, one of the best individual performances I've ever seen in a Stoke shirt.....

That night was a fait accompli after we should have won the first leg. Fucking Graham Potter, whatever happened to him!

Clive Clarke is still the only player I've ever seen get sent off for having the ball knocked out of his hands.

A mate from wolverhampton who wasn't crazy on football. He's been stoke ever since and still goes on about the police horse incident.

It started my long and illogical hatred of Andy hessenthaller I don't think there's anything illogical about hating him, not if you ever saw him play. As an aside, I think he's the only person I've seen with bigger thighs than Shaq

Brynjar Gunnarsson was immense that night, one of the best individual performances I've ever seen in a Stoke shirt..... One man defence. Absolutely no question his was one of the very best individual performances by a Stoke player I have seen (since 1978). To be honest it's probably the best. If anyone can remind of a better one glad to relive it.

When he first came to us he didn’t look like he’d ever kicked a ball. The following season he walked all the player of the year awards. At that level he was on a different planet to everyone else.
