I've always admired the people that can Skip whilst moving the ropes from side to side, like Boxers..and I agree i like Swimming but i'm all Arms with no Legs if you get what i mean, when i watch people in the pool that can swim so fast or even for so long i think what am i doing wrong, i am usually knackered by the first length..

There was a group of us at school who used to skip cross country.
We did a quick jog down to Newcastle town centre, go under the sunken roundabout, smoke a couple of fags and then jog back to school for a nice, comfortable mid table finish.

Anyone do it? Running kills me and I can't swim for toffee, so I'm thinking of starting to look like a thin twat by skipping on the patio. Will it help to get rid of slight belly and how long should I be aiming for each day? Do I need to learn any rhymes? Try hopscotch, much more civilised

I do skipping now and then, plan to do some later after a 4 hour drive home, it is good for you nd as long as you keep it up you should get healthier. If it's good enough for ear chewing boxers like Mike Tyson it's good enough for

I skip with a leather speed rope as part of a callisthenics inspired High Intensity Interval Training: HIIT
Burns more fat than traditional exercise
Excellent for lung capacity and general fitness:
10-15 exercises 30 seconds at high intensity 10 seconds rest
Lots of examples on YouTube
Very cheap, very beneficial

When you say running kills you, do you mean your knees or knackering you out of breath? Skipping is actually terrible for your knees on concrete, the very least buy a mat and do it in shock absorber shoes. I’d say spinning classes or Kettlebells. I prefer the latter as it’s much more convenient. Start with about 16KG aim for as many as you can in around 30 secs, rest for 1 minute and repeat. It’s a bloody killer!

Kettlebell classes done properly are a killer. Spinning I quite like. I booked too late for my usual class & mistakenly took an Insanity Spin class though a while back, and nearly died. Well, I probably didn't but it felt like it 😣😣
