Mixed. He was a good Champ manager at Preston, a better Prem one at Everton but since Man U he's bounced around so randomly it's hard to gauge where his head's at. If he's still wanting to get his feet under the table at a club and stay, maybe. He did a significantly better job for Wet Sham then Lambert did for us tho, no question.

Knowing us we’re probably not looking at either Moyes or Allardyce.

Talking to West Ham fans around our neck of the woods and the one thing we all agree on is that Arnie and NOT Moyes was the difference between the two teams

Moyes said last week in the paper that he reckoned that his standing rated a job managing a top 6 Prem team. So can't see him coming here, although money talks, of course.

If he's that delusional, cancel my positive comments above. Moyes is a good journeyman, or was - obvs he has McLarenitis these days, give the man a brolly.

Talking to West Ham fans around our neck of the woods and the one thing we all agree on is that Arnie and NOT Moyes was the difference between the two teams But Arnie didn't start playing well until Moyes got there, coincidence? We should have already been on the phone to Moyes and Allardyce to see if there is a possibility. You can bet your bottom dollar we haven't been.

If he's that delusional, cancel my positive comments above. Moyes is a good journeyman, or was - obvs he has McLarenitis these days, give the man a brolly. To be fair, it's not quite what he said, he was more implying that he wants to be manager of a club that can match his ambitions of being in the top 6 or top 8: www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5710899/David-Moyes-heading-West-Ham-exit-wants-Premier-League-eight-club-next.htmlNot convinced we're at the level he's looking for or have the potential he wants from a club. Coates would need to flash some serious cash.

I would think that Swansea and West Brom are on the phone to Moyes right now. I hope Stoke are as well. Our recent management of managererial vacancies does not really give you confidence.

Get Moyesy in NOW don’t wait about until others show interest. Anybody on here not happy to get David Moyes as manager of stoke you need to get a grip of reality. We would be very lucky to get him. UTMP!!

I don't want him.
But the fact people would be willing to accept him (myself included) shows just how little faith we have in the board's ambition and open-mindedness.
Would much rather a Graham Potter or a top foreign manager á la Wolves.

Moyes would be solid - about as solid as we could hope for IMO.
In an ideal world, there are fancier picks.
But I'd take the guarantee of him in a heartbeat to ensure Lambert is a gonner

Much rather have Alladyce, to be honest, much better record of success in getting clubs promoted. Can't see at Moyes is much of an upgrade on Lambert, who has a better record of promotions.

I don’t want big Sam. I think he’s a fantastic manager who overachieves everywhere he goes, but will he have the stomachs for a rebuilding job?
Moyes on the other hand still has the fire. I’d get him in tomorrow

Whilst we all discuss the possible new candidates for the possible managers position Peter Coates is probably sunning himself in Barbados safe in the knowledge he has his man Lambert in place for next season😩

Moyes V Big Sam - Who would you choose? It's a tuffy, maybe if we go down the long term, project route Moyes would be the bettor option. 2 year get us up and keep us there it would be Big Sam. Swings and roundabouts, I just don't know. I'd hate to be Coates.

Moyes V Big Sam - Who would you choose? I don't really see Allardyce as a realistic target, to be honest. He's not worked through the summer in a club job for a few years now, and he is 63. He probably intended for the England gig to be his last job, until he blew it. Now he is in a pretty settled pattern of taking the summer off, getting a club job before January, and keeping them up for a massive payout. And who can blame him? It's great work as long as clubs will keep paying him to do it. He doesn't really have anything left to prove to anybody, and was on big wages at Everton. Don't see him fancying dropping down a division and having to rebuild a club like this, when he could take on a mid-table Premier League job in Novemeber and make more money. Moyes, on the other hand. I assume he would come if we sold him a vision. He is still only 55, which is young in football management terms. He's got something to prove and a reputation to salvage a little bit given his career trajectory since taking the Man United job. His best spell in management came when he spent a long period building a club under a loyal and patient chairman, which is what we would sell to him. If we promised him the funds to take us back up, keep us up and establish us as a mid-table side, I think he would be up for the challenge. A cheaper, somewhat inferior and less exciting version of what Rafa is doing at Newcastle, if you will. Moyes wouldn't be my ideal choice if I was in the driving seat. But on the basis of the candidates that Coates is likely to seriously consider, he would be far-and-away my number one choice. I think he is get-abale and affordable. He is streets ahead of Lambert, as he has proven across his entire career.

Sam by a long way, either are better than Lambert by a long way.
I wasn`t sure about Moyes pre West Ham but he really has done a great job from what i can see and once again football has kicked someone in the chops for pretty much nothing and they are basically saying you have achieved your objective now we don`t want you - seems we might be doing the opposite.
Funny old game.

Knowing us we’re probably not looking at either Moyes or Allardyce. we are monitoring and probably still will be until we need a break for a holiday , its hard graft this monitoring but don't despair we will be raising funds at the same time selling our better players and exploring the loan and free transfer market like we do every summer .

Big Sam over Moyes for me, although I think Moyes would be an ok appointment with the right backing.
Think Allardyce would have a better chance of bringing the fans together and keeping the better players we've got at the club.

Moyes could have stayed.
Two reasons I believe he left
1. West Ham is a mess 2. He is located up north
He may see stoke as a club that fits
