I would.deffo be on the phone to him now. Weay not like him, but his record speaks for itself in this league. Why would he leave cardiff though mate Pulis has to return for me. If Pulis came back, the crowds would simply be cut in half. Not to mention the supporter divide and the whole place on turmoil Yes we all appreciate what he did, but he's a toxic cunt and he should never, ever be manager of Stoke City again. He's part of our history. And that's where it should remain. My choice would honestly be QSF.

We need a new start in my opinion
I would rid ourselves of at least Lambert, and Cartwright.
We need a new, young, ambitious manager who likes to get the ball down and play, not the hoof ball we have reverted back to.
Time to wake up Coates and listen

Yep, I have to say I like lambert in many ways but the record is not defendable. Has to go.......I’m hoping he sees the situation as untenable and resigns No chance of that. It'll be "I'd like the opportunity to take them back up. Judge me with my own players, blah blah." Another wasted season next year and I don't know how many I have left. Two little dickie birds sitting on a wall........... come back Peter, fuck off Paul!

New manager required who the board WOULD back with decent signings to build a promotion pushing season
I think they got him him to achieve mid-table mediocrity until their true target emerged
1 in 14 meant it all went Pete Tong ☹️😠😭

Only a looney board would keep him. When the season is over there could be some good candidates about. We have a loony board. One that should have given him a chance to earn a 2.5 year contract by surviving. It's not like he had any other options.

After ignoring the support towards the end of the Hughes reign they won’t do it again
Coates senior will have no interest in this mb but the younger ones in authority will look at it and see the supporters concerns
They won’t go down that path again

He was touting himself for the job in the press within two days of Hughes being sacked. I think he’s a stalker.
When he does get sacked, i’ve got visions of him loitering on the west car park on match days whilst the game is going on, mumbling threatening things to himself and pacing up and down with a slowly increasing psychotic glint in his eye.
He’s had his eye on us for a while... A bit like Paddy Considine’s character in A Room For Romeo Brass. Except he’s dressed like a man who’s been bullied by his daughters into going to a singles night... “Go on Dad, you need somebody to look after you now Mum has gone, you need to get over her.”
Sack him today - worry about the restraining order at a later date

I've a nasty feeling having seen what Warnock , Bruce and Pulis have done with their clubs in the Championship this season Coates will be tempted to give him a chance.
Now that's his perogative but if that's the decision he makes they he has to back him with money to bring his own players in.
Even if he gets rid he won't deviate from his usual pool of candidates..see above.

We’re literally the only club in the football league who would allow a manager to win 1 in 14 games (regardless who’s squad it is) and stay at the helm.
Yes, our Peter has been a massive part of our recent success by throwing money at the club but if he really loved the club he would be making decisions that reflect that and not showing blind faith and loyalty to this divvy!
Contrary to our success, Coates is about to play an even bigger part in our demise if he doesn’t smell the coffee. Fans will begin to resent him and soon he’ll be remembered as the blind-faith dinosaur that allowed us to sleep walk into League 1!
Time to hand the reigns over to John Coates.

Hunch or something more Paul? I posted on another thread ... I think there is absolutely no way that they will keep Lambert. He is tainted with the failure of relegation, his stats are appalling and the club just can't take the risk of ending up in exactly the same situation that they did with Hughes. If they give him a load of cash to spend in the summer and then we have a tough opening set of fixtures where we don't win in the first four or five, then things at the Brit will turn ugly very quickly, with the main focus of the wrath now being the board themselves, rather than the manager. Yes they've made some big mistakes recently but I can't accept that they're just plain stupid. They now know that they made a huge mistake in not sacking Hughes last summer, there is just no way that they're going to run the risk of making the same mistake again. I’m of the same opinion. Shit only travels downbank in the workplace and based on that I think the guys who will go are Lambert and Cartwright. Teflon Tony will look to escape by using MH, PL and MC as the fall guys. If I was a shareholder I would look at the role and competence of the CEO in relation to all things SCFC, IMHO he’s pinching a wage

Yes, Warnock is in the prem now so not sure why we think we can get his services and he has way too much success on his CV for the Coates family to employ him. Not sure why we think Pulis would come back here either, he is generally hated by most Stoke supporters and he may also be managing a Prem team next season too. If he is out of work by xmas and we are at the bottom of the table then I think we would all have him back in a flash, until then I wouldn't mind somebody who can put a fit squad together who actually want to play for us and some attracive football would also be nice

Hasn't he won something like 3 out of the last 35 games.
He lacks a winners mentality and that's worse than any lack of tactical nouse, something he also doesn't have.

John Coates waxed lyrical about Lambert when we appointed him, he's heavily involved already. Personally I'd give Richard Smith a go. He admits he knows nothing about football but it's plain that neither do the others currently running the circus. He's been responsible for the infastructure enhancements, from the CW training ground through to the new corner. All done on time and to budget. He's the only one on the board that has delivered results in the last 10 years from my vantage point. What do you expect though, he's married to Denise, a born achiever by the looks of it?

he came in when no one else would and has done his best with a piss poor group of players he inherited from the previous regime, he was on a hiding to nothing really but at the time had a slim chance to save us and save his own career (possibly) he failed, not surprisingly in my eyes but not all his fault.
Its gone from bad to worse tbh, so its a thanks but no thanks from me
Bye bye paul

He's not good enough for the Premier League. However, he won successive promotions with Norwich City from League One to the Premier League so he's got good history down there.
I say give the bloke a chance. He should be left alone to re-mould the squad during pre-season and he must be supported by the club in the transfer market.
However, he should be sacked if there's a serious concern regarding relegation by November. Hopefully, the club will be monitoring the job market for competent managers at Championship level should one be required long before the January transfer deadline ends.

Lambert has given 100% effort, got what he inherited motivated BUT the results are against him.
Had he kept us up there was an argument for giving him a longer go but as his one and only task was to keep us up and he failed, why should he stay.

So you want to let a manager with 1 win in 14 and who hasn’t had any success for nearly 10 years, rebuild the squad and be backed with money? I actually can’t believe that any Stoke supporters would think this is a good idea.

I'll be amazed if Coates cans him.

He's not even that, he's a shite Mike Bassett. It's bordering on being completely fucking patronising. I'm sick of him trotting out all of this "hard working class area full of great fans who need a team they can be proud of" PR, recycled bullshit in every interview. He had 16 games to win like 3 or 4 to keep us up and turned us into the worst team in the league. I don't want him anywhere near our club. As has been said elsewhere, he's just a shite Pulis.
