Every bad word ive ever said about Butland, ill retract. He has finally had a pint of man the fuck up and told it exactly how it is instead of arguing with fans

I thought that article might be a breath of fresh air.
Sadly not with the statement about lambert.
Although I guess he’s closer to it all, so who are we to say he’s wrong?

It’s ok him saying Lambert should stay, he won’t even be here when things inevitably continue to go tits up.

To be fair, he's not exactly going to say Lambert should get sacked, is he?

At least the players have something about them especially Butland saying this, some knobs on here will moan about him 'coming out and saying it how it is' but you can't win really.

That article has 100% confirmed Jack's intentions. You don't say provocative stuff like that which your bosses will read if you expect to stay around.

Wowsers. It's not very often a player confirms what we all thought. Shocking levels of incompetence from those in charge (being paid a shit load of dosh too) That deadline day cheering the pizzas arriving sums it all up. Wankers. Signed - mr angry as fuck

Presumably that’s him dropped at Swansea if the supposed new discipline us in place , worth it though should make scholes and cartwright splutter a little

So to clarify
Muni - loaned in Spain Bojan - loan in Spain Imbula - loaned to France Jese - Never around Berahino - Discipline issues Wimmer - Overweight Afellay - Fallen out with Lambert
Truly dreadful deals

Why has he and the rest sat around all season allowing these ill disciplined, unreliable players get away with what they have?
It's obvious there is a severe lack of "character" in our dressing room.

So did he and some of the other seasoned professionals speak up or just go along with the Hughes-Bowen shit show? Marc Wilson’s comments about not practicing defense were an interesting clue into what was going on and Coates should have paid closer attention.

I think it's more likely that Lambert identified him as a bad egg and fucked him off, rather than any specific falling out.

They had better sort out the character in the dressing room because looking at the Championship we will do a Sunderland if we keep most of the crap we have now. The ones with character like Alan, Butland, Shawcross could all be gone leaving us with a bunch of clowns

It was noticeable that Shaq went to Lambert when he scored yesterday instead of doing his usual "I'm the greatest" pose.
Butland obviously thinks more of Lambert that most of us on Oatcake.
I suspect there has been a division in the dressing room between those who have shown dissent/disrespect/incompetence and those worthwhile professionals who were trying their best and sick and tired of what was going on and pleased to see Lambert come in and start to sideline the likes of Jese, Berahino, and Afellay. Butland clearly supported the manager trying to sort matters out, thinks he should be allowed to continue to do so, and squarely puts the blame for the demise at the door of those responsible for signing players like Berahino, Jese, Imbula, Wimmer, etc. who have not just failed to perform but clearly do not have any loyalty to Stoke City.
I have said Lambert should now be removed; he is tainted by failure and cannot instill confidence in players, apart from any technical know how deficiency. But if Butland is right and Lambert has the support of the dressing room then provided other issues are addressed (recruitment, positive signs of improving academy product, ground improvements, access and egress to the site, etc.), I might change my mind and think Lambert should remain.

How did players (Butland included) not step up and self discipline those not toeing the line? Perhaps they did, but to no avail... Seems to have been a fail all the way around.
