The lad can play
But it's just not happening
I don't whether stoke or sobhi or both are to blame ??
Very frustrating but I would be completely unsurprised to see him come good elsewhere.

I hope he stays.
He should progress much quicker in the championship.

I have seen zero to back up this "he's a good player" argument.
Every single time I've seen him play he's been shite bar maybe his debut.
The club has even failed to cash in on his name in Egypt. We've missed a big chance there IMO.
All that being said we should definitely have a sell on clause added to the contract because you can bet your bottom dollar as soon as he leaves here he'll turn into Maradona.

I hope he stays. He should progress much quicker in the championship. Agree. His agent should be pushing for him to stay. Think he would get better in the championship if his agent and his ego would allow it

Maybe his knob of an agent should engage his brain and whether he leaves, or where he goes, depends on Stoke.

Alright with the ball, just doesn't seem like he can kick it more than 5 yards.
No huge loss.

Agents - don't you just love them?
He needs to get his head down and learn his trade, as he is far from the finished article. Instead, his head is being filled with nonsense by a bloke desperate to make money off his back, making him out to be some sort of superstar.
Different to some, I maintain that, if he did commit to Stoke and started playing regularly, he could still do a very good job for us - he is only young and can develop. However, if he has ideas above his station, and thinks he is better than he is (as his agent clearly does), then we should get what we can for him and move on with players who really want to be here.

He might actually be a regular starter if he stays, and a season at a lower level with plenty of first team football would do him the world of good. If he wants out we should hold out for a decent fee as he still has a lot of potential. And a sell on clause

I like his ability to hold off his man and he can definitely dribble, but his technique when crossing or striking the ball is awful. Obviously we barely see much crossing or shooting from him in game as it is but even in the shooting practice in the warm ups before the games he's noticeably technically inferior to most other players.

I do think he's got something to offer but I'm fucking sick of hearing about him and his agent. If you want to stay, stay and if you want to fuck off, just go.

I keep hearing pace is one of his assets. I'm yet to see him beat an egg never mind a player and his shooting is worse than mine and I'm utterwank. He has potential but he needs to learn to crawl before he walks. His agent is a fucking dullard btw.

He'll probably turn up in Sevilla or Liverpool or Bayer Leverkusen, doing extremely well. Showing things you never saw him be able of doing in a Stoke shirt.
The mystery continues.

Amazing given so many think he's shite! Yes, his crossing ability, goal scoring and blistering pace will be greatly missed.

Wasn't it Sobhi (21) who didn't have the pace to beat Phil Jageilka (35) to a through ball last season?

Don't really care if he stays or goes. I don't see him or any other players developing further here. We need players that already have experience of playing at a highly competitive level.

I said this at the time but as someone rightfully pointed out, Phil Jagielka is one of the quickest players in the country, backed up by stats too. It doesn't change the fact Ramadan is not that quick though.

Pretty scathing assessment from those two. Shame if he really does think he's better than he is because I still believe he's got a lot of potential. Sadly so far that's all it is, he's miles off the finished article. If that's his attitude money back or a small profit and fuck him off get him off the wage bill.

Sobhi has made 41 appearances for Stoke and has a solitary asdist to his name. That is pretty shocking for a wide 'creative' player. His final delivery is Sunday league standard I'm afraid. He's got natural talent but he clearly doesn't work anywhere near hard enough to improve very obvious shortcomings. I still think there is a decent footballer there and would try to keep him but he's got an awful lot of work to do to be as good as he thinks he is

Sobhi is the perfect example of what has gone wrong. He arrived not as the finished article but as a promising talented youngster. To fulfil his potential he had to work on his game and grow into the various demands of top class football. At the end of his second season he isn't as good as when he arrived. Has nobody helped him to improve? Did we just buy him and forget about it? I was told from the off that Hughes didn't rate him (some will say he showed good judgement). But that always bothered me and I shared that on here (plenty of stick was given) but it was what I was told and it tallied with how Hughes was treating. Now I believe (this is a hunch) that he's the second player that the manager didn't sign, the first being Butland since Cartwright arrived. I really don't think he's had the necessary coaching to improve his attacking game and he's got worse since he got here as you say. His first few games he played he was so positive and direct and would take on a man. Traits I don't believe Hughes liked in a winger (just from watching ours Hughes play). He didn't play for a few months despite being fit and I think this is where it was coached into him to defend and to be not as direct. I don't think he's helped himself sometimes but I do think he was just following orders and it's made him worse. It's strange Bayern, but I see parallels to Chamberlain when he signed for Sheffield Wednesday all those years ago: Wilkinson just seemed to coach that natural instinctual ability to go past defenders out of him and made him very predictable, (he also seemed physically fragile and injuries took an attritional toll.) I'm not saying Sobhi is in remotely the same class, but he seems so ponderous in possession now, almost as if he's trying to give his feet time to catch up with his brain,or vice versa.๐ I had really high hopes for him, hopefully the blood and thunder (more space, defenders diving in more etc,) nature of games in the championship may be liberating for him.If he stays of course.

His decision making is appalling. I have 10 year olds that can decide when to hold the ball and when to release it better than he does.
No way near as good as he and his agent think he is I'm afraid.

Sobhi can hopefully improve. Keep him until at least the winter, refuse him a transfer.
It is not too much of a gamble

He needs 2 things: 1- To play regularly 2- To play for an attacking team
I think Stoke will offer him that in championship and he will help the team too.
I wish he will stay but i am not sure about that, he earns from marketing campaigns here more than his salary for being a footballer, he cant do that while playing in championship, most of Egyptian fans are already attacking him currently because he has lost all of his skills, even if he is going to be championship goalscorer they will continue attacking him because there is a very huge gap between 1st and 2nd division here so for them 2nd division is not football whatever you do there.
