Maybe signing Huth not for his playing abilities but for his attitude and potential ability to kill anyone on sight. Have him in the changing room to back up the manager and scare the shit out of all these ‘bad DNA’ players we have ruining our club??? Just a thought ha

All this crap about bringing former players back to bolster the dressing room is absolute bollocks. Promotion can only be achieved by what happens on the pitch so let’s hope our wonderful recruitment team focus their attention there.

Anyone know how far along he is with his badges? Maybe he's not going to be featuring on the pitch.

Huth being at the club, in the dressing room, on the pitch (when fit) would be bloody brilliant for us and an absolute no brainer. Can't believe some of the negativity on this one. On a free! Just as a cheerleader I’d snap him up, he’s a huge fans favourite and would give everyone a much needed boost.

He should never been sold in the first place!! To split up one of the best central partnerships in the league was disgusting!!

I swear I read he's been doing some work at Clayton Wood, possibly rehabbing an injury or something.

Surely TP would sign him for Middlesbrough ( one of his former clubs)

Ugh.
I love the bloke but i wish we'd fucking look forward. Signing him as a starter would be the antithesis of what we should be doing.

Being an old Git. I can remember the team that got relegated in the 70's and got back up in two seasons .
Of course there are differences to today but one similarity is that we were a mess when we went down .
Two key players in our promotion team were Howard Kendall who joined in year one and Mick Doyle who came in year two . Both veterans but both winners I remember Doyle especially having a huge impact .
So in relation to Huth if he is fit again I'd take him , his mentality is exactly what we will need on but more importantly off the pitch to sort the shambles of a squad we have now back into a strong team

Still think he'd be a no-brainer on a Bosman. The money would be a drop in the ocean
No-one's saying he's going to start every match. But characters like him aren't ten a penny

Agree. Bring back the Berlin Wall.
The CA 5Live interview on Monday brought it home to me when he was describing the (obviously futile) attempts of the snr pros to dig out the trouble makers & all round bad eggs but failed miserably.
Two things:
I can't imagine Robert there putting up with such nonsense for longer than, what, 2 seconds?
It also speaks to the lack of real leadership in the dressing room; something we'll need in spades next season.
And by that I mean Ryan is a great bloke it seems but I just don't and never have been completely convinced by him as el capitan.
And I don't mean Huthy as Captain either, just a solid influence to have around the place for what it'd cost.

We go on about needing pace and power but there is most definitely room for a bit of nouse and experience.

Not heard that one but I know we like the look of Cherno Samba, we think we can resurrect him to former glory.

Was the outing of the massive German youth just another sign of what a spiteful, fractured, egotistical, megalomaniac Leslie was. I wonder what could have started it:-

We need to sign new heroes.
If we sign Huth, before we know it we'd signed Bardsley, Whelan, Whitehead, Walters, Jerome back.
Anyway he's 34 soon and hasn't played a minute of football this season. If that was anyone else would we go after him?

Was the outing of the massive German youth just another sign of what a spiteful, fractured, egotistical, megalomaniac Leslie was. I wonder what could have started it:- I was told by someone who works at the club (albeit not in a senior capacity) that Huth was an influential prescence in the dressing room and there was no love lost between them from the start. The 'cock no cock' twitter row and his general injury/lack of form gave Hughes the excuse to ship him out on loan from which there was no return despite the disasterous introduction of another not so massive German youth to replace him. So to answer your first question, yes.

I can imagine Hughes not liking shit like that (no not defending smart arses ).

The key question here should be, is he coming back simply to play.... a 2nd round of 'Cock or no cock'?
