Ok I am behind the times, but the Wild Mouse has gone,,,what a blow, I remember fearing for my life when i went on it for the first time in 2014, in hindsight, i needed stronger neck muscles.

Is that the same as the mad mouse? (Wooden rollercoaster that throws you about)?
I take the whole family (children, grandchildren) every August for a day at the pleasurebeach and that is the first ride we hit, if it’s the one you mean it was there last August

Haven't been to pleasure beach for years but the rickety wooden ride was always called the mad mouse.maybe they changed the name with the oystons being in such close proximity

There's nothing pleasurable about blackpool pleasure beach. It's a shit hole. I’m 3 mile up the road from Blackpool and in general I’d agree with you I only visit the town once or twice a year...Christmas shopping and taking my grandaughter coral island Pleasure beach is again once a year but very enjoyable day if you like rides After agreeing Blackpool is a shithole, I have to say it’s still slightly better than stoke 😉

Only ever had one encounter with the place, expectations were reasonably highish. Sorry but never again.

We used to love Blackpool being taken every year for the lights and of course the paperboys day out.
Not the same now the backstreets are just a shithole. Some of the shops have the same display that they had in 1960's
Those donkeys must be worn out now as well^

nowt wrong with blackpool. as long as you don't go there expecting the Riviera.plenty of decent[ish] b&b numerous pubs[but be warned if kids are queueing to go in its best to avoid] and the soul bar on the front is superb.

Always knew it as the mad mouse went every year with the Kidsgrove labour club and Kidsgrove working men's clubs and never ever heard it called the wild mouse, maybe was a nickname?
Blackpool is okay you know what you'll get, it's a lot cleaner and the seafront is actually a nice walk these days.
Went to the pleasure beach with the lad about 10 years ago and was shocked that they wanted us to pay an entrance fee and have only been back once 2 years ago when we got free passes and to be fair they have tidied it up quite well.
Always like a few days there most years although the lights are very repetitive so only go for them every 3 or 4 years.

To be fair, I've had a few good trips to Blackpool, but it's just one of those places I prefer to avoid these days.

Up here (people in and around the area) feel it’s the people that make It an undesirable place .....
These are mainly people visiting from the poorest areas of the country for piss ups etc
Many from stoke/ Leeds / Manchester

What I remember about the Mad Mouse is that it was easier if two people rode in the car. If you went on, on your own (as i did) it was a real rib cracker.

The rest of the UK is bad, but I don't think it's possible to see so many fat, ugly fuckers outside of the US, or Vale Park.

As I say tho, they’re all tourists from stoke etc 😁 Seriously, I see the poor people of blackpool.....those estates slightly inland, behind the town as very much like people from areas like bentilee or bucknal. All these cities and towns are very much a muchness these days I’ll tell you what isn’t nice about blackpool people.....they are very tight and untrusting Maybe because of the influx of tourists who knows Stokies are friendlier people

I worked around Blackpool in 2 separate jobs. 6 months at Cala Gran in Fleetwood was probably the worst. I was always uneasy, some of the visitors were low life scum. However, some of the long-term residents on site were great once they realised I was there for reasons other than to get smashed & create havoc. A later job I had was assessing flooding problems around the area. The locals' reaction was invariably suspicion, but then becoming grateful when they found out I was actually there to help. Countless offers of cups of tea, sandwiches, cakes. The nearer I got to the sea front, though, the worse the people became. Only place I've ever been shot at in my job. Cops reckon the bastards (I was shot at twice) thought I was police on a drugs raid. Only time I've been back since was last year. My goddaughter wanted to go there for the weekend for her birthday. Never again. As pleasant as the walk along the sea front is now, the bars were rammed with the same pond scum that Cala Gran used to be. I'm not easily shocked but some of the behaviour left me feeling sick to my stomach. Still, if the asbos congregate there, it means they're not wherever else I'll be in future. Unlucky for Blackpool but swings + roundabouts, eh?
