Zaha really doesn't need to dive against us. He's much better than anything we have talent wise (Shaqiri aside) and will easily take the piss out of Pieters or Johnson. maybe you missed peiters performance on Saturday? No I was there.... I saw it. Ta though.

Doesn't tale a genius to calculate that yes, we must go for 3 points against Palace! Otherwise we're down! No ifs or buts with this one is it. We've got to keep tight to Zaha and that lanky Chelsea loanee whose name escapes me at the moment, otherwise we'll be in big trouble. They're poor at defending set pieces, so we must make ours count. If that means starting with Crouch and Diouf up top again then so be it. Come on Stoke.

Shaq can't cross a ball from a corner to save his life and Glen Johnson well don't get me started with that free kick. Don't think I've seen stoke score from a free kick since .......

Why does anyone want to see Diouf up front?! We need goals and he`s lower on confidence than a mouse being stared at by a hungry Lion!
I`ve said it for weeks and weeks, the only player in our sqaud who has always scored is Crouch, he is static yes, but Diouf offers so little up front that`s an irrelevent argument due lack of options (investment up front in Jan)
When you are down at the bottom, so much comes down to probability.... Crouch will score, he always has and for me, he has to play.
He tires after 70mins and then can be replaced.
Butland Bauer Shawx Zouma Pieters Allen Badau Diouf Ireland Shaq Crouch
That has to be the team for me
Mama offered so much on the right wing back earlier in the seaons and with Bauer behind/overlapping that would be decent, add some more creativity from Ireland and that for me is a decent setup.
Ramadam has offered next to nothing over the past few weeks but is a decent option from the bench and we could switch it about if needed.

Palace fan here in peace - been interested looking at your take on the weekend.
I would expect us to line up the same way we have done the last few games, playing Townsend and Zaha in free roles up front, and then a solid midfield 4 (but with no natural width). Personally, I would swap Ward out at RB for Wan-Bissaka - gives us more pace on the break and balances out PVA on the left for width. We will probably play defensively with the aim to counter attack with pace, as you don't really have a choice but to go for the win. It's the sort of tactic that could go either way, as setting up to defend and playing on the counter attack restricts us if we concede first.
As with always in these sort of games, the first goal will be crucial, but the longer it stays level, the more nervy I think your players will get, and give us opportunities to score.
Also, a plea - please don't buy in to the media garbage about Zaha being a diver. The problem nowadays is that there doesn't appear to be a middle ground between foul and dive. It is a physical game where contact is expected, and not every instance is one or the other. He doesn't help himself appealing for everything, but to suggest he goes over without contact is not true (watch him dive clear as day now I've said this).
Lastly, regardless of the score, I'm hoping there's nothing but goodwill between the fans - having been through what you are going through several times, the last thing anyone wants is opposition fans rubbing it in if it goes against you.

I'm hoping you'll be surprised - there may be a bit, but we were in a similar situation back in 05, when we got relegated at Charlton (who like to think there's a rivalry there, but we don' really care either way) took great delight in jeering the Palace fans who had just seen us get relegated, having conceded an equaliser in the 82nd minute. They gloated at our expense, chants of "We'll never play you again" etc - look where it got them. Football has a funny way of bringing karma round on you, and I for one know that, after our start to the season, we could be where you (or even WBA) are, and wouldn't want it if the shoe were on the other foot.

I read about your history with Atkinson - it's a bit like us with Clattenberk, where I don't think we won a Premier League game he took charge of, and always seemed to get dubious decisions going against us. Imagine the collective utterances when we had him for the Cup Final too I just hope that there aren't any controversial calls either way, and the game is settled by how well both teams play, rather than the referee!
As I said in my original post, the middle ground between dive and foul seems to have been eliminates, ad I think you'd be hard pressed to find a single example of an out and out dive from Zaha - ultimately, he is often moving at pace, and slightly off balance anyway, so small amounts of contact can result in him going down. I'm not saying they're all fouls, but to suggest they're dives is not accurate in the slightest.

It's still cheating trying to win a penalty after a slight bit of contact, it's a contact sport being played by 6 foot strong guys, Zaha looks a cunt as he goes to ground with arms outstretched eyes staring at the ref. It's a bit like hoping for Zaha not to dive in the penalty area and for Atkinson not to have his whistle in his mouth waiting. Pointless. Top banter mate

Thanks for that. However re Zaha,he spent the whole game last season diving.Didnt need the media to tell me he does it seen it with my own eyes. To be fair Shaqiri dives too, he's rubbish at it mind. Palace's attitude is key. RLC will be keen to impress as he has an outside chance of making World Cup squad. Has to be a chance the others will be thinking of their summer holidays, that's what most footballers do in their position.

Probably they're already safe, but ... this could happen ... 0.00174% risk ... Watford -18 42p Saints -15 41p Bmouth -18 41p Swansea -23 39p ---------------------------- Crystal P -19 38p Stoke C -32 33p West Brom -22 31p 😲 where the fuck do you get your info? Huddersfield on 35 points[and will not get another] but don't make your bullshit table Info? I used the Table calculator at www.worldfootball.net. Try it! Hopefully, you'll find it amusing. 👍 0.00174%, remember. Bottom line is: Crystal P. will do everything they can to win this match, since their manager says they're not safe yet.

It's a bit like hoping for Zaha not to dive in the penalty area and for Atkinson not to have his whistle in his mouth waiting. Pointless. Well, we didn’t take the mickey, bar one or two quick chants, and Zaha didn’t dive in the penalty area. He dived everywhere else and was gifted a free kick on every occassion. And there was a full on 3000 voiced chant of 'you're going down at the end'. But apart from that you're 100% correct. Oh and there were lots of other chants that may well have been derogatory or relate to relegation but I couldn't understand a word you fuckers were saying. Fack, darn, cant, sarf, orf. Were some of the words I could distinguish which, coincidentally, if you rearrange mimic my feelings towards you and any others of your ilk at this moment in time. There are many ways of taking the piss. Yours is simply a more subtle version.
