We will never know for sure but imho that's what I think. Yes, that's what I think too, he would have found the 4 extra points we ultimately needed somewhere in that raft of soft fixtures we had in the middle of the Lambert reign where we failed to win any. I believe the Cov City defeat was more than a premature FA Cup exit and a humiliation, it robbed us of our Premier League status too. We'll never know for sure of course, all we do know is that the replacement manager couldn't find them. It was actually the Newcastle defeat that got him the bullet. He knew going into the Coventry fixture that it would be his last in charge of the club.

I'd chuck Bournemouth at home after the Man City thrashing in the same category as the castle defeat where we needed a positive result and failed rather miserably.

I still can't fathom how Hughes Managed to get an extra 3 months on the back of a narrow (And until yesterday only ) away win back in October.
Can you imagine that scenario at any other club ?
