If you’re going to post on here, try and think of proper questions, everyone in the 70’s team would get into this team, every single one of them, Ritchie or Dieuf, you are a comedian

If Hudson could be kept off the pop, England would have a creative player better than anything Germany,Spain or France currently have. Big John would( with Service) score as many as Morata / Giroud. Dennis would have to modify his tackling somewhat or Twatkinson and Dean would have him banned for a season- but I think he would be quite capable of doing it. Much as I tend to disagree with quite a lot of what he says, I think Mike Pejic would make a huge difference to our team.

We had brilliant players in the 70s We would never keep now, because times were different, people were different and football was different
Our star midfielder, alan hudson, was wanted by clubs like arsenal, but played for stoke because he liked going for a drink with the manager, tony waddington
Our star defender dennis smith was so outstanding against ajax ( then a giant of european football) that they bid a quarter of a million for him. But the club retained his services by not telling him about the bid until after he had retired!
Just, very different times

To compare anyone of that era to anyone in the current squad, when you consider the combination of skill, commitment and work rate, is almost perverse - Ryan and Joe would be welcomed into the fold, I feel, with their almost traditional values being recognised by all, and Shaq's skill, if not his attitude, admired, but otherwise the rest would be laughed off the training ground.

More likely pushed against the dressing room wall and told in no uncertain terms what they were thought of. Alan Hudson would, maybe, be returning to us, aged 36 from 10 years at Barcelona!

Diouf wasn't good enough when we signed him. Hughes totally ruined him.

Or allowing for the innocence of youth ... A) Maybe Shawcross would make the team that Dennis Smith was one of the first names on the sheet B) No, Hudson would die if he played for us in his condition (as would I). But in his day, Hudson would probably thrive with the extra protection, better conditions and lighter ball players have today C) A bloody lamppost planted on the penalty spot would score more than Diouf

I'm sure Hudson would enjoy playing for us in the modern game though he would probably be getting fined a lot for breaking curfews!

They'd be run off the park by the fitness levels of modern players (even ours).
They'd need others to do a lot of their running.

Today's players maybe technically more gifted, training is so different and modern from the 70's.....
However, today's players couldn't live with players from 70's, they'd shit out of every challenge....they wouldn't be able to handle the football from back then!!!
And as for playing on the 70's pitches....

I can’t believe anyone could possibly put Diouf and Big John in the same sentence
For me Ritchie blows them all away Stein Bertie Crouchy. Non of them compare. In today’s market you’d be looking at 80m minimum
