At various times over the last couple of years we have turned out noses up at Hughton, Dyche , Moyes, Allardyce, Hodgson etc. Most, if not all, were deemed route one merchants. Meanwhile, we lumbered along with Hughes, who ruined our squad and made us incredibly easy to beat. Now we have the admittedly unfashionable Lambert getting flak for not being able to polish a turd. Could it be that he, or someone similar, is exactly what we need? No ... no he's not what's needed. As is proven by the fact those managers you listed aren't getting relegated.

In January managers seemed to be very sniffy about us. As a Championship club they will be even sniffer. We are destined for the Paul Lamberts of the world for a while yet I’m afraid. Does anyone really believe we are going to attract anyone of the likes of Rafa Benitez? If so, deluded. We currently have a squad of generally poor or players with bad commitment. This is going to take a while to fix imo. Sadly.
