Half the time i don't bring him up You do mate. It’s like Tourette’s. Half of the time i do because he deserves more recognition for what he's done. I mean people yawn on about Hughes' 3 ninth place finishes, but who gives a fuck?

If we think this level of "news" is bad, we've got a rude awakening in Colin Murray's Channel 5 coverage. Make sure you don't blink, is all I can say. Not on Channel 5 next season, or so I read on here anyway. Its on..............................wait for it.....................................................................................................................................................Quest!!

I think a lot of responses proves a point I've been making for years - we're a small time club with small time thinking fan base. Doff the cap and be grateful for any crumbs that fall off the top table.
I genuinely believe we have a good number of fans who are petrified of any type of success.

We are not a London club or as mentioned above WHU or Newcastle and the pundits await new meat to fawn over for a year before politely taking them to bits and saying goodbye. The media basically only really like talking about 10 teams and 2 of them are not in the PL. I assume the 8 PL are the big 6, Everton, and Newcastle. What are the other 2 that you have in mind?

It's nothing new, in fact the droves of people who hated the rugby team was unusual for a 'minnow' to have such a presence in the league.
The media literally give 85% of time, effort and wordcount to the top 6, meaning that there are 14 teams fighting for a few seconds of focus. We stole it briefly with Delap and our direct style, this year Burnley are stealing it, as are West Ham due to more noticeable activity.
The media unfortunately have to do it, because that is what brings people to their website, to buy their paper or watch their TV show... and you can't blame them really, when watching MOTD if it's someone like Bournemouth Vs. Watford, I can hardly muster the focus to watch for the 90 seconds of highlights.

The corresponding media love-in over Wolves' promotion is in stark contrast to our exit from the Prem. I'm sick of it already.

I'm moving back to England this summer after many years away (since well before we were promoted). A few years ago, I would have been crushed to think Stoke were being relegated right before I could enjoy watching them in the Prem. But it's become painfully rare to enjoy watching them in the Prem (on TV for me). So, like some others on here, my emotions at the prospect of relegation are mostly indifference, with a hint of optimism. The excitement of "oh my God, we're in the Prem!" evaporated for me a few years ago to be replaced with "well, it's better to be mediocre in the Prem and finish a solid 9th, than to be in a lower division". The 5-0 Bolton and 6-1 Liverpool, alone, make the last ten years worthwhile. But now I'm excited at maybe - pending the offloading of some overpaid dross and replacing it with some players who care - winning some exciting games again, with multiple goals scored. Assuming we can ever buy a striker who knows which way the goal is. And make the Crouchy the manager!

Our demise has received little scrutiny in the press. Listening to talksport earlier they got onto the subject of relegation and we were sort of brushed over.

Leeds must be one of em. Televised virtually every other game on Sky.

Shameful Don't be such a miserable bugger 😁 What's nicer than sitting on Padstow wall eating posh fish n chips on a lovely summer day . I love his tv shows (and don't mind admitting it 😀) His restaurant was a bit pricey though!
