Given WBA's win there is a distinct possibility that we could finish last.
In the long run would be this be better for the Club?
Might it actually bring all the errors into sharper focus for Coates and force him to face up to the stark reality.
I've a serious concern that we'll try and get back to the Prem the "sustainable" way with little to no investment, especially if we end up coming close to surviving.
Might be better to finish last and run them out of excuses

Worst case scenario is that we continue to pathetically lose every game until we are mathematically relegated, and after that we win a couple of dead rubbers so that Lambert and the board will think maybe the squad doesn't need such surgery after all.
I would hate to finish bottom but I would hate the scenario above even more.

Not sure that a Ground Zero relegation will do much for everyone's morale. Our atrocious GD is bad enough; I'd like us to go down with a shred of dignity.

I don't think it would be fair on some of our players as there are a few who are trying their best.
We already have the almost daily bad news srories without attracting any more and a positive start next season is essential.

I'd usually agree Linx but onionmans scenario above is what worries me. The appearance of some fight/form but without any substance and the powers don't grasp the need for root and branch overall.

Are people seriously suggesting that the owners still don't get it. If they don't understand now, then genuinely, there's no scenario anyone can suggest that will ram it home to them.

Relegation is relegation, makes no difference if its bottom or otherwise.

Even some of the fans on here dont get it, they are saying we should get behind coates as he watches the club self destruct and takes us back to where he found us. He needs to part ways if he doesnt have the desire or ambition to keep stoke in the premier league. One of two things must happen if we get relegated, either Scholes and Cartwrights must be chopped and the whole operation restructured with competant world class businessmen or coates has to hang up his boots and let someone come in and get us back up with immediacy, non of thid it was good while it lasted bollocks, we need to be demanding this disaster is put right.

No chance, because of the money situation PLUS we need some confidence for the players that will remain with us next season.
The only ray of light of losing all the games and finishing bottom is Lambert might get fired.
