How did he do today bearing in mind he was up against a top notch back four?

Better than against Leicester but still a million miles away from being anywhere near ready.

Very physical lad, quite quick and will get there. But as others have said it will take time he's not used to how quickly defenders get to him.
That said i'd be sure he wouldve buried that chance had diouf not been totally fucking braindead.

For all the criticism that both will get, it made a difference that we had two rapid players up front. You don't get that with Crouch, Choupo or Berahino.

Being in the Championship next season will bring him on loads

Little by way of actual chances but heavens we looked a hell of a lot more mobile with Diouf and him up front. Signing a player a few years ahead of him to partner Diouf would have saved us this season IMO, but I look forward to what Campbell can do next year, looks very sharp.

Plenty of energy. Is starting to run the channels. Fairly physical. With good coaching and the right attitude, he has potential

Nearly scored with his first touch. The lad was full of energy and eager to please. He will no doubt get a run if we go down where he will learn to settle and play more educated. That’s when we will see him develop into my opinion a bloody good player

“We did think of buying a striker but we feel we have to give Campbell a chance with Peter couch to guide him .” Tony scholes August 6th 2018

This is not a knock on him as he's so young - but it does look like he's miles away at the moment and seems a bit unlikely he'll be figuring for us in the Championship.
Very few 18-year-old forwards would be up to making any meaningful contribution at that level.

Not surprising I suppose but just looks like a rabbit in the headlights every time the ball comes near him.

He's miles off it but I'd take him ahead of Quagmire at the moment.

I thought he looked a lot better yesterday than the Leicester game but he needs a loan first and that's clear.
He was still better than Crouch mind.

I thought he did well at least he has pace and ran down defences. That's what we miss

I realise now you were being ironic, it’s a little early for me. As if Tony Scoles will still be here come August.

Better than against Leicester but still a million miles away from being anywhere near ready. Why are we playing a bloke who is palpably not ready in one of the most critical matches of our modern history? If we didn't have another striker who is not either on the naughty step or injured then should we not have juggled things around a bit? For example I think Jese came on in what proved to be his last game against Brighton and won the penalty at the death which should have given us a precious victory. I could understand us throwing a few eager school boys in to the fray if we were basically relegated but whether you believe it or not word from HQ remains that we are somehow still in this fight.

Certainly not good enough nor, quick enough for the premier league thats for sure. Championship ?-----maybe - The one thing I noticed - he sprints, leaning back - like someones strapped an ironing board onto his back

Jese isn't a striker, I', absolutely nonplussed as to why his name keeps getting tossed around as a striker solution. He's also been almost uniformly toss with the exception of one match in August and a brief cameo against Brighton and his attitude seemingly stinks to high heaven.

Campbell or Berahino or Jese?
Only one realistic option there.
