..is he getting found out?
I’m starting to suspect it’s the latter. Being totally honest even when he was in top form I always thought he had weaknesses in his game and never thought he was as good as Begovic at his best. I felt he was young and could work on them, but he’s going backwards and it doesn’t just look like form to me. He’s looking more and more like one of the myriad goalkeepers out there who are excellent shot-stoppers but just aren’t reliable enough when it comes to the nuts and bolts like distribution and collecting balls into his area.
Won’t matter to us too much longer but it’s time to cash in asap because i can see him going the way of someone like Mignolet tbh.

The save against Son in the first half was superb.

It was. He’s very good in those situations.

It's massively frustrating how long he keeps hold of the ball when we're chasing a game.
Not sure if it's from instruction though.

Is it an attitude thing, stay on my line don't get clattered, don't get hurt and fuck up world cup place/transfer?

He’s a top class goalkeeper.
Top, not world, because his kicking is awful, and it’s obvious his head has been elsewhere for the duration of this season, once he establishes himself at a “bigger” club, he’ll be England’s No.1 for the foreseeable.

No where near the form he was in before his injury. Hes developed a habit of punching crosses instead of catching them and does not command his box. Hes been culpable for a lot of goals. Super ball in from Ericsson but he really should deal with it. Just hoping we get a decent fee for him.

Poor on crosses. Doesn’t command his back line. Flat footed whenever a ball is played over the defence. Distribution abysmal since his ankle break.
Never mind concentrating on being England’s Number 1, had we had a Premier League standard backup keeper, he’d have been dropped.
Not a patch on Begovic or Sorensen.

Lee Grant had a better season the year before.
I think that is right and correct but what is it telling us?
I'm stuck between a few theories that I'll probably never know.
Has he got a move lined up already? Mind elsewhere?
Is he scared of getting injured before the World Cup?
Is he struggling post injury?
A mixture of the above?
He hasn't been poor and overall he's been good, but serious errors are creeping in faster than Linford Christie and his lunchbox.

He'll always be a good highlight reel goalkeeper but, like you say, his command of his area and distribution haven't improved in the last few years really.

Would he usurp Karius at Liverpool, which is where I think he’ll end up, or is he not even that good?

Since Shilton we've had lot's of promising young goalkeepers who have failed to become world class. Maybe only Seaman since and he was prone to the odd howler! www.englandfootballonline.com/TeamGkprs/GkprsChron.htmlI've always felt not 100% confident in Jack but dared not say something because it's not popular/Emperor and his new clothes syndrome!

WTF was that one he two fist punched away ? any other keeper would easily have caught that. Not sure if he's got one eye on the world cup or he's a busted flush. Time will tell.

Agree, never been totally convinced by him. In fact I would say out of Sorensen, Begovic and Butland there isn't a stand out keeper there and Lee Grant never let us down either.
I've seen £40mill banded about on here for Butland. If anyone offers us anywhere near that, bite their hand off and use the money to strengthen up front for next season. Personally, I reckon he's worth no more than £15m in actual ability.
I suspect Butland will have a career like Ben Foster's or Joe Hart's. Highly rated as a youngster, found out at the top level then ends up in a mid to lower PL club for the rest of his days.

He needs to get off social media, knuckle down & work hard on his kicking, catching & command of area.
The annoying thing for me is his demeanour. It’s a fine line between confidence & arrogance. Just seems like he thinks he’s better than us, when unfortunately for him that really isn’t the case at the moment.

Remember how value he was to us before his injury? How many games and points he single handedly saved us? We haven't had that player this season. His heads definitely elsewhere. Up his own arsehole mainly.

He’s not been right since the injury. His kicking wasn’t fantastic before but at the moment it’s shocking.
Shot stopping, apart from penalties, is better than average but decision making on crosses is a liability.
World Cup will be interesting if he’s number one. I don’t see it going well for him and his suitors may be reduced. Maybe his dream move won’t happen, we keep him and he becomes a bit more humble & works on his game.
